How Many Times Does Trixie Actually Say "I"?

One of Trixie's best-known traits in the fandom is that she speaks in the third person all the time. But does she really? Turns out, no one has ever counted the times she says "I." Until now...

Hat Man Reviews: "Haze" by Bandy!

Haze is a story that is filled with big ideas: Cloud empires. Flying earth ponies. Ancient religions. Superpower-inducing fungi. Unfortunately, much like the mushroom-munching ponies in this story, this story might be biting off more than it can handle…

Storm's a-comin'... · 2:45am Aug 25th, 2017

As some of you folks know, I live in Houston, Texas, and it's looking like Harvey's coming in with everything it's got. Just so you know, I'm stocked up and prepared to weather it, but I might just load up the car and run. Either way, just telling you not to worry about your old pal Hat Man. 🎩

As someone living further up north in Texas, the way the news is going on about Harvey they make it sound like its the next Katrina or whatever the hell the recent big hurricane was. I would suggest better safe than sorry you get out of town for the weekend, think of it as going on a weekend vacation.

Good luck!

Take care and good luck!

Also these are American houses if they were Japanese I'd say sit and enjoy yourself but not with an American home

Hang tight hatty, and stay away from low elevations.

If everything goes wrong, maybe make for Mission Control? IDK

Google has a map of shelters, and the projected path of the hurricane.

Just as an update, I'm staying, but I'm supplied with food and water and candles, and my apartment is on the 3rd floor, so flooding is unlikely. Parked car on 4th floor of garage at work to keep it safe and dry too. Right now, the plan is hunker down, get trashed, and hope the power stays on.

Candles... Why do they always stock candles... :rainbowhuh:
The trick is to have some camping stuff, the kind of equipment that'd get you through a weekend in the woods.

If it's an apartment building, you should have a good chance. Those tend to be built pretty solidly.

Why candles? Because I can keep my place lit if the power goes out. I have a flashlight too.

Camp stuff was mostly sold out, but even then it wouldn't be an issue. I have lots of food that won't go bad and I'm freezing blocks of ice to keep my fridge cold even if the power does go out.

Still, I might stock up on some other supplies for next time the nasty weather rolls around.

It's just that candles have become the traditional thing to have, even though they provide little light, need tending, and if you're really lucky they can be a fire hazard. The flashlight is a good idea, but a rechargeable LED camping lantern that lights up when the power is out is pretty much the optimal solution. Some can provide continuous light for as long as 12 hours.
I went a little overboard on that, some time ago. Now every room has at least one rechargeable light plugged into a wall socket. If there's a black-out here, my place will be lit up like a rave. With my luck, it'll happen at night while I'm asleep.
I like the idea of freezing blocks of ice. I've done similar things on a smaller scale by freezing bottled water.
Then, hey, sit back and enjoy the storm. I hope your Internet connection holds up.
