So! I've made it no secret that I wanted to try and attend Galacon in Germany and meet some European friends who can't make the American cons.
This is still likely.
The problem lies in that Bronycon is the exact same dates.
As a result my brain is now freaking out over how I chose which one to go to. I love seeing my friends at BC, especially as it's often my only chance all year. But at the same time, I want to meet my friends on the continent, several of whom I've never met in physical space.
At the same time, there's the cost of travel to consider, the stress of said travel, if I'm travelling alone or with friends, etc etc etc
This is indeed a quandary.
I'd do Galacon. Hands down.
I love BC and all, but a chance to go overseas and all? Sign me up.

Alternate between both with quick scene cuts, like Rarity in Sweet and Elite?
I'm sure if you greeted folk at Bronycon and eventually reappeared looking dishevelled and with a croquet mallet held in your teeth, people would understand.

Rares got disheveled going in and out a door. A ten-hour flight is another matter. (Even for a pegasus, I imagine, much more us humans.)
My usual impulse is try to split the distance, but barring a Saturday spent in transit, that doesn't seem like it's going to work. Loath as I am to say this, I do have to side with seeing the people you never have before.
Well, either that or try to get one or both cons to reschedule somehow.

This does depend on how much dishevelment and time invested in scene cuts Ferret's willing to tolerate, I'll admit that much as a fault in the plan. Otherwise, I think it's workable.
I'd love to meet you, but if I don't get to in Germany, I will find some other way[1]. That said, if you come to Germany, so will I, barring disaster.
[1] Any helpful bronies in the State Department? Just asking for, y'know, a friend.
Another vote for Galacon here. (Though I'm hopefully going to see you earlier in the year anyway, so I wouldn't be missing out as much if I couldn't see you at BC. 😉)

That said, I ALSO have plans to hopefully meet you before then, around the time of [REDACTED], while I'm on my way from [REDACTED] to [REDACTED]. Or did you forget?
(It'd be cool to go to GalaCon, but I think it's about a month after I'm supposed to be in Europe. Then again, i know what Ferret said, but for the life of me I can't find 2018 dates yet.)

But it should be there in 2019. And ideally the dates will be separated again.

I note that Galacon is listed as only a 2-day event. Really depends how many of the hours of those 2 days it fills up. Bronycon has become a 4-day event for writers.
