The August Update (2017) · 9:43pm Aug 16th, 2017
CHAPTER 5 PROGRESS:
Stage: PLEASE STAND BY
Word Count: 14,455
This chapter. This chapter.
"Current estimates put the final word count at around 11k-12k words..."
Hehehe... it isn't going quietly. Every time I think it's going to wrap up, another scene sneaks its way in and I have to accommodate. As I write this I expect at least 2k more words to be added before everything's tied together...
But screw this. It's been ten months since I originally created the Chapter 5 document during my early drafting, and now I'm setting a deadline to complete it.
When is that, you ask? Well, I'm not one-hundred percent sure myself, but let's just say it'll coincide with something extremely exciting, and you can expect it to probably happen within the next two weeks. I'ma bust my rear to get 5 all finished up in time, and since it's been through such copious self-editing, the "proper" editing shouldn't take terribly long.
On the topic of exciting...
I can't stop admiring the pose, the colors, her eyes... it's all so great And while this final version of Quillwright is awesome, the artist's WIP shows off the full color palette a little better.
August Changelog:
General changes:
-Chapter perks have been rebalanced/redesigned. While they have no actual effect on the story, they're a fun little FoE tradition to keep up.
-Improvements to spelling and grammar throughout.
Chapter 2:
-The giant radigator has received some additional details to better describe its appearance and really drive home its size.
Final thoughts:
- I'm still reading Murky Number 7, and it has not let up. A fourth of the way through (250k+) and it's still absurdly engaging.
- A random but guaranteed to amaze mystery video.
- I'd like to plug a few YouTube channels I've really been into recently:
-Fredrick Knudsen (AKA Down The Rabbit Hole) - An interesting and informative series covering a wide range of strange and notable internet personalities and events, as well as obscure historical topics. His Mother Horse Eyes and Collyer Brothers videos particularly fascinated me.
-Oxhorn - The go-to guy for all things Fallout lore. Ox has covered an absurd amount of history in the Fallout universe ranging across every game in the seires, and he's still got quite a ways to go to detail everything. He recently did a series delving deep into Dead Money, and it was incredibly well-produced. His editing is handled quite deftly, and he has a soothing voice.
-Nyx Fears - Yes, we have similar names, but I swear we aren't the same person. Nyx reviews movies, primarily horror and... well, just weird stuff. The whole show has a bit of a Mystery Science Theater vibe to it, and his review of The Bye Bye Man and his video on Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark are two excellent examples. - The Unofficial Soundtrack for OSha has been overhauled and trimmed down. It now follows the plot very loosely, beginning with the main theme and leading up until Chapter 5 with looser music following that. It's still nothing detailed; maybe someday I'll make a full document going into my choices like Fuzzy did with the MN7 soundtrack.
Bit of a short update this month, but I'm expecting the next to be more substantial... since Chapter 5 will be out by then.
That looks amazing

I personally love it it's good I envy artists
Write on my friend.
And I love Oxhorn. I really want him to talk about the Lonesome Road and The Divide. If he loved Kellogg as a villain he'll be head over heels for Ulysses

Definitely! There's so much for him to cover in all the New Vegas DLCs; I'm also really excited to see him do Old World Blues, as I'm really partial to that expansion. He'll have a riot during that first conversation with the Big MT scientists.
