An Open Letter, to You · 3:46am Aug 16th, 2017
Yes, you--the person I met at BronyCon.
In the past we may have exchanged comments, or admired each other's writing, or simply seen one another in passing. Perhaps you're a veteran of past conventions, or a relative newbie like me. Perhaps you were eager to meet me, and perhaps I thought the same about you. Perhaps you didn't expect to see me at all, and your mind was blown when the guy in the metalhead jacket turned out to be the author of that one story that you so loved (or perhaps, that you were traumatized by).
But for all these different things you might be, there is one thing I can tell you for sure: You are certainly interesting, and I took great joy in getting to know you personally. There really are all kinds in this fandom, and thank goodness for that. I only hope our meeting was as enlightening for you as it was for me.
In fact, you were so inspirational that I've come back with a new story idea, which I intend to get cracking on first thing tomorrow. My last three stories may have been popular flops, but my loyal editors have reminded me that the real point of creating is to have fun with it, even if the result opens to a small audience. (The said editors seem to have caught or re-caught the writing bug too, and I'm keen to see the results.)
I hope your journey home was a safe and pleasant one. With hard work and a little luck, I'll make BronyCon 2018, and we'll have ourselves another shindig--as good as this one, or perhaps even better. Until then, stay gold and stay brony.
All the best,
Horse Voice
We all are echoes in eternity. And being, as solid as we are, sounding-boards for those echoes which we meet, reverberations within the space which is the instrument which is reality. And that note sounded into the empty void, sings within the strings strung against our common instruments. Music carrying from instrument to void to space to existence, until that song escapes our simple creative spaces into the world beyond.
I'm reading your Buffalo Telegraph piece. We'll see what that means.
I'm eager to see what sort of inspiration you drew from this weekend. Remember, im happy to proofread for you, and I'll see you in a couple weeks!
You were a delight to hang out with and I hope to see you again someday.
I got a new story in my head thanks to the con, too. Funny how that works.
It was great to meet you! For some reason, I thought you'd be a lot older and lumberjack-ier. It's great putting faces to names, and you certainly delivered there!
Despite not having been at BronyCon, still read this blog post. You're a real sweet guy for a disembodied skull.
it wasnt me was it? heheh
As always was A pleasure to chat with you. And I hope my little assurance that people genuinely enjoy hanging out with you helped.
Damned right and I should hope so. I'll actually be able to be there next year!
Still, very glad of all the happy stories I seem to see coming out of this year's con, yours included. Glad you made it, glad you had fun.
can't wait to see what kind of inspiration you got
The sentiment is mutual. It was great meeting you in person.
Aww, bro.
You were not as expected, and that is not at all a bad thing.
Can't wait to read what you put out next!
It was a pleasure being able to connect with you and listen to your stories of living in the area of Westest Canada. Here’s to next year.
It was a honor and pleasure to meet you Horse Voice, even though we'd only been in contact a week prior to the convention. I look forward to next year, and to future conversations online.

I didn't realize you were such a poet!
4636459
Definitely! But uh-oh, it begins to feel like the pressure's on...
4636471
You bet. We didn't get much time to chat, so we just may have to fix that next time.
4636523
I get that first one a lot, but the second is a new one for me! Internet people really are never what you expect in person. Yes, this was certainly an historic meeting.
4636568
You and you and you and everyone! I didn't get to meet Scribbler like I wanted, but I met everyone else, and it was great.
4636614
It really did. It's a new feeling, to be sure. I did make a couple of minor faux pas here and there, but was able to recover in the end, as far as I can tell. The encouragement is much appreciated.

While I do occasionally write poetry, they usually make more sense than that. I should probably cut back on the vodka.
4636626
Well, now I have to go next year. But I'm switching jobs soon, hopefully into something worth sticking with, and if they don't allow me the time off, it will be something of a dilemma. Wish me luck!
4636676
Damn right. Also, I hereby bestow upon you the Award for Best Mustache.
4636715
!
4636719
You were perhaps expecting a 45-year-old lumberjack, like Corejo was?
4636728
4636734
Darn right! And, I certainly hope so.
4636862
Heck, I call that perfect timing. I'll definitely do my best to not be a stranger.
4637105
Haha no, I just wasn't expecting you to be so easy to talk to :)
aww, dude! it was cool to meet you, too - i just wish i had a chance to talk to you more.
here's to hoping we'll get a chance next year, eh?
It was awesome (even if the con was uncomfortably intense in parts). You were awesome. Glad we hung out!

With luck, things will be more laid-back next time. But yeah, it was still tons of fun.
I'm saying hi here because I knoooow I'm at least part of this blog with how much we chatted Friday! I really enjoyed you indulging all my weird ramblings that 4637448 is responsible for triggering!
I remember youuuu
4638863
Oh dear, you'll have to forgive me: I remember the name, but I'm bad with faces, and yours has already gotten lost in my mind among all the others. Refresh my memory--what was it we talked about?
I expected you to be more Satanic.
4639891
You were expecting Venom and Mayhem, but got Nightwish and Alice Cooper, huh? Or perhaps it was all that smiling I did. Don't look so surprised; smiling is what a skull does.
4639132
we met at the tarot readings, for a little while
4640027
That explains my memory gap--that was one crazy night, and I seem to have blanked on half of what happened. Let's make a point of getting better acquainted next time.
