... and will likely be finished within the next few days as It’s coming pretty quickly. Will be aiming for a midweek release. As promised, this chapter will not be clop, but rather, one last round of worldbuilding before the grand finale to follow, much of it taking place over a chess match between Edgeworth and Celestia. Among other things, you’ll learn some very interesting facts about Celly and her role in on Earth over the centuries, such as:
“Remarkable...” Edgeworth acknowledged as he countered her queen with his own. “I must say I am impressed, Princess. With one minor and measured act at just the right moment in time... you changed the very course of human history.”
“I prefer to think of it as keeping history on its proper course," she replied easily. "Understand, I do not do such things often or lightly. I could not control humanity even if I wished to. The events of last century were certainly evidence enough of that,” she closed her eyes in regret for a moment. “But even in humanity's darkest days, I have never lost faith in your capacity for friendship and good. Nor have I ever stopped coming here, even during the times of greatest strife.”
“Not even during World War Two?" Maya had to ask, fascinated by it all. "I mean, I'd think you'd've stopped coming here then, given how awful Hitler was...”
“Indeed he was.” Celestia's expression went pained and brooding. “And I would know. I met him...”
I swear if she wash his art teacher, I'll be both pissed AND amused.
