    Coming Soon, Really

    I've been a bit under the weather since Trotcon, but feeling better now.

    This weekend I need to work on putting together some poni stuff for my niece (she's up here for her birthday), and my inability to do basic things makes that a bit difficult. So I may be delayed a few days on the Trotcon retro and the other long post I still really really want to share with y'all.

    Twilight's Enigmatic Clarification (AI ≠ LLM GAI)

    To head off any possible confusion, I've added a clarification to TEEE's story page and a note at the top of the chapter explaining that TEEE was not written using LLM generative AI (the story actually predates this technology by several years).

    I will be at Trotcon. Still alive.

    I remain alive, and as of June 13th am now the number of symmetries in a cube.

    I will be at Trotcon.

    Please contact me if you're there! (Or even if not, that's okay too.) :pinkiesad2:

    I might do an author party. I'll announce it with another post. Signal boost would be useful.

    I am still alive and also at AnthrOhio

    Sorry for disappearing. Ironically the thing I wanna talk about is the thing that keeps me from being here at FF or getting anything done. :facehoof:

Party Aftermath: Moondancer to the Face · 7:53pm Aug 12th, 2017

Thanks to all who came and joined in the party fun! :heart:

It was probably a bit too large because I broadcast it a little too freely, but most ponies who were not overwhelmed by the crowd were able to enjoy themselves. (Please in future, do not damage the furniture by smashing bottles to open them. Horse jesus, you dumb fuckers.)

My inner Moondancer is coming out. Through my eye.

I lost a battle with a door, but the colors match my mane so perfectly it looks like makeup. (It is not makeup.)

This has created a conundrum of less-than-epic proportions over how I want to do my Moonie makeup for cosplay this evening. I was planning on cream-colored Moonie-pelt makeup over my entire face and neck, but handling that eye is going to be a bitch. I'm currently relying on a pinch of Imitrex, a little under 2 grams of Kratom leaf, and some cold medication to reduce the swelling and drop the pain so that I can start applying crap to face.

I had originally planned on attending the Cool Kids Writers' Dinner Thing but I'm probably skipping because some other too-cool-for-cool-kids-kids are skipping and I don't even remember if I'm cool enough for the first level of Cool Kids' coolness to have registered for it properly. :facehoof:

So my current plan for tonight is as follows:

* Nurse wounds and eat pizza in room, maybe three or four more hot tub baths
* Hoers in dress :twistnerd:
* Walk through marketplace 5:15pm to 6pm
* Maybe fursuit photoshoot at 6:30? Eh, probably not.
* More than likely Transformative Art panel in PLAN at 7pm
* Hangin' out in Quills and Sofas
* Stare into space and contact Order of Spring AU's Twilight Sparkle
* Grand Galloping Gala, bitches (9:30pm until bored)
* Drunk-fic reading at 11:30pm
* 50 Shades of :yay: (Neigh) at 1am
* Find way back to hotel room
* Nurse wounds again; include new wounds

See some of you around! But mostly with just the right eyeball.

What's the cool kids writer's dinner? Jedi master ed has a 4pm to 6pm hangout at room 705 in the Hilton.

That sounds way better.

So are the attendees who damage the tables in my suite by smashing bottles against them to forcibly remove the caps, causing pieces of wood to chip off. :ajbemused:

4631827
Fuck when did that happen I don't remember it happening that sucks. Drunk peeps be hella stupid.

4631830
It was like, throughout the evening. I kind of said offhand, "No, please don't do that," but I was not forceful enough because I was tired and I save that level of force for WALKING INTO DOORS :raritydespair:

Ouch take care of yourself tilting at doors isn't good

I passed a bottle opener around for a while towards the beginning, but then Rob got hit with being unable to stand.

Ouch! Sorry about your eye

Why would anyone use furniture to open their bottles? Doesn't the hotel have bottle openers like at the Crowne Plaza? Hopefully you won't be charged for the damage. Pretty sure they'd have insurance for that sort of thing

The furniture was a little broken already and I've hid the damage as best as I could. I'll probably get away with it.

Seems like an interesting day. :ajsmug:

[placeholder for expressions of appreciation for the party which will not cause any misinterpretation related alarm]

Ouch. You try to throw a nice party for people and they destroy the room. Sorry about your eye too.

4633568
It wasn't too noticeable.

Er, the table damage, not the eye. The eye is noticeable. :duck:

4632111
Having been to many parties in the past, using the furniture is what happens when nobody brings a bottle opener and they start improvising.

In other words : Be a good party pony and keep one on your keychain so you are always prepared. I bought one at Ciderfest a year or two ago and it has saved furniture from being abused many times since because I can pull my keys out and toss it to whomever isn't as ready as I am to PARTY.

4635110
Yeah I'm like "what is booze and how it work". Seriously what's the point of making it harder to open? So kids have a slightly harder time drinking?

4635152
Pretty much, yes; that, and keeping the booze good, since as soon as you expose it to outside air you start losing carbonation etc. And getting them off without knowing How To Bottle Opener is rather a challenge, so it does help stop kids.
