"If Granny Smith seemed pretty reasonable towards Bright Macintosh, then wouldn't she be able to set the Apple-Pear rivalry aside for him?"

"Why doesn't Granny Smith trust other families, anyway?"

"Why is Granny Smith so protective of her son?"

Well, you probably see where I'm getting at, don't you? I saw this episode and basically found the perfect opportunity for IYGALL worldbuilding, even though I'd told myself I wasn't going to write another oneshot for at least another month:

Now, nothing about this story is really set in stone yet. I know it's gonna be about Granny and Cameo's past relationship, and how Cameo left the family to find love with the Oranges. But I'm between "Fruit Cocktail" and "What Once Was Lost" for titles. The Granny Smith image seems a bit too "happy" for this type of story, but I couldn't find any other ones at the moment. I'm not even sure if anyone would really want to read my weird take on the episode. But I at least thought I'd throw the idea out there.

Looks intriguing, and given the Oranges' role in IYGALL, it'll be cool to learn more about their past. It'd also have the benefit of exploring more of Granny Smith's character, which is always nice. If you do end up writing the story, I'll be sure to check it out!
