New Fic Reading - 'Six Angry Mares' · 12:29pm Aug 5th, 2017
Way back when, in the dim and distant times of 2013, I read a fic that quickly became one of my favourites. Granted, I didn't have a wealth of ponyfic under my belt at that stage, but this fic stood out in my memory even as I ploughed my way through enough goodfic, badfic and mediocrefic to sink several barges. It helped that it was based on one of my all-time favourite films and adapted it in a clever way. In 2014 I started plans to convert this fic into an audio drama. Then life happened. Life is a bugger like that. Roll on 2017 and I finally managed to complete the project - and you know, even four years later, this is still one of my favourite ponyfics. Sadly it's not available on Fimfiction and I have no idea whether the author is still active in bronydom anymore. Even if they have left, however, I am glad they left this legacy and proudly present my own adaptation of Six Angry Mares by Jelly.
Summary: AU. Six complete strangers find themselves locked in a jury room. Their job is to deliberate over one of the most heinous crimes ever committed in Ponyville. And their votes will determine whether a lonely zebra will be able to keep her liberty, or be banished from Equestria -- forever.
I've heard a lot of good things about this story, and I'm pleased you read it, if only because it's unusual for EQD-only fics to get readings these days. :)
