Time for me to throw off that old username. New avatar, new banner, new name. I've just used Rambling Puppet too long, 8 years is just too long. I used it because I thought it was an apt analogy for avatars on the net, how people tend to be seen as just an image on your feed.
As for what this name is? It comes down to my love of fantasy. I always loved the look of robed cultists, there's an air of mystery about them. The OC in my avatar is actually my Ponyfinder character; "Blue Candle" an Earth Pony Chaos Mage and seeker of forbidden knowledge and power. Like I said before, huge table top geek. And if you wonder why there's no cutie mark, he's used magic to conceal his mark, which is a set of blue candles. He works as a candlemaker as his daytime job.
You might say he's a "Flaming Telepath" working to open a "Stairway to the Stars" to save you from a "Fire of Unknown Origin." 
... you know, I just realized how morbid it is for ponies to use candles, unless they're all made of beeswax instead of tallow (which is rendered beef/lamb fat). Though I suppose with unicorns around to enchant things I guess there’d be less call for candles... Oh my god, what did they used to use for soap?! Ahh!

He was mostly brought on by my love of Blue Oyster Cult and Dungeons and Dragons, and polished by my inability to stop thinking. ^^;
I'm also thinking of publishing a character sheet if anyone wants to use him in ponyfinder.
