TCFHE Videography - Fox 8500 series

In 1993, FoxVideo got a major hit in their orders when the catalogue sequence reached 1999. They were then put to the task of, well, trying to figure out what number would be assigned to the next Fox film. Going back to the Magnetic Video days, they were about to enter the company's chosen number system for Viacom titles and felt the risk of potentially running over several numbers was too great. So that year, they decided they would release their new films and some old ones that had not been on video at the time under a totally different numbering system. They took the 8500+ titles from the ABC Video numbering system that they used and started using it for their films. This stayed until 1996, when Fox realized they were also running over the series Magnetic were using for ITC titles upon approaching 8999. They then released their films in many different and disorganized numbering systems until the late '90s when they decided to apply a 2000000 series.

Meanwhile, Fox had three new lines for its videos, releasing certain films, at once, under the Selections, Studio Classic, Family Feature, and, later on, the Premiere Series lines.
