The-Should-Have-Been Refresher: Time Line Changes (Show/Fic/God Squad) · 5:22pm Jul 20th, 2017
It has been four years since The Abundance came out and the show has marched on. Keep in mind, Faith and Doubt was written after Season 2 and A Canterlot Wedding and The Abundance right after that. So a lot has changed in the Abstractverse vs. the Show. Furthermore, my comedy series, The God Squad, and the rest of the Scootaverse, has also marched on. And that has resulted in me having two timelines different from the show. As such, this refresher will remind you guys where we left off and what to expect and not expect:
1) The Crystal Empire
While in the Show and GS the Empire exists in the Abstract Saga the Kingdom is still lost, as the conditions for Sombra's return never happened. In fact, some have wondered if the Crystal Empire and the Heart are connected to the Abstracts... afterall, they disappeared shortly after Nightmare Moon, which is when Faith fully became Doubt. The Crystal Ponies also have reflective coats like Abstracts, those the former are crystal and the latter or metal...
In any case, there is no Empire and thus Cadance remains in Canterlot with Shining Armor. Which Equestria needs after the war.
2) Princess Twilight
Show Twilight ascended after proving she had friendship or some crap like that. In GS it is because she hit godly puberty being Nightmare Moon's kid. In the Abstractverse Twilight is an alicorn because of Doubt channeling his power into her, elevating her to become an Alicorn. She is has no crown and is known as the Alicorn of the Stars, able to use star-themed magic including hints of wish magic.
3) Spike and the Dragons
In the Abstract Saga Faith and Twilight helped Spike master his greed-growth transformation and he can now shapeshift. He tends to stay in baby dragon form but can take on his Knight Form (from the show), a Hulk-like form, and his giant dragon form. This is done by using his desires but focusing them on wanting to help others so he keeps him mind.
4) The Elements of Harmony
In the show they were sacrificed to stop a tree (in GS Tydal was pissed a tree nearly defeated everyone). In the Saga the Elements are now mere jewelry as the Abstracts themselves now can lend their power to those they are connected with.
5) Tirek
In the show Tirek escaped and was defeated by Twilight and Co with ugly hair. In GS Tydal heroically sacrificed himself to stop him. In the Saga Tirek has yet to escape Tartarus and, from what Tydal said, will not be able to now that The Speaker Beyond the Gate as taken control of Hell or at least its power
6) Tydal, Celestia, Luna, Discord, Cadence
In GS these are all brothers and sister. In the Saga Tydal, Discord, and Cadence aren't related to each other or the pony princess sisters. Discord is no longer the Spirit of Chaos (and he is thrilled) but Tydal is the Lord of the Sea. How Tydal became Celestia and Luna's father and Discord's origins will be a major point in The-Should-Have-Been King
7) The Founding of Equestria
In the show the three tribes fought, their aids found friendship, WIndigos defeated.
In the Saga this is a lie.
The true origins of Equestria were hidden, locked away. The darkest secret.
And The Should-Have-Been King has come to reveal the sins of ponykind and take back what is his.

Thank you for the quick and easy to understand recaps *mumbles under my breath* now I just need to get to reading "Faith and Doubt" and "the Abundance" and then i will be all set
