So how about that Doctor Who finale last night? The finale and the episode immediately preceding it are the only 12th Doctor episodes I've watched since the Robin Hood one; I decided I'd best watch the official end of the Moffat era and the exit of Capaldi from the series. Discuss freely (tagged, of course) in the comments; the thing that excited me most, and has me looking forward to the Christmas special with eager anticipation, is David Bradley reprising his portrayal of the First Doctor.

The Christmas special is going to be epic. I'm going to miss the 12th doctor though. I wonder who his successor will be?

Yeah, I only got to see bits and pieces of the finale. From what I saw, it was epic. I know there's been a big push on this side of the pond to have either a person of colo(u)r or a woman or both as the next Doctor. However, Doctor Who is primarily for a British audience, so it's up to them who's the next master of the TARDIS.

My honest advice? Don't worry about catching up, just watch the Christmas special. Because a complete retool is coming. New Doctor, new showrunner. Moffat's out, new guy's in, Thirteenth Doctor will appear for the first time in December--the Moffat era is over, so it's time to embrace the next era of Doctor Who and leave Moffat's behind in the past.
