Happy Canada Day! · 5:45pm Jul 1st, 2017

It's Canada's 150th birthday today which means 150 years ago today, Canada was signed as an official country and not just a colony owned by the British. If it wasn't for that fateful day, I would never be calling myself a Canadian and I most certainly wouldn't have that Canadian accent.

I think... It's hard to tell you have an accent when you speak that accent your whole life.

Anyway, I don't really think of myself as a "true" Canadian; I hate poutine and backbacon, I use the American spelling for words like color, I call the United States of America JUST America (like who in their right mind would do that?) and the Unova region based of New York City is my favorite Pokemon region ever. Until GameFreak comes out with a region based around Canada in which case I will be super into that.

And I'm off topic. The point is Canada is a century and a half old now and I thought it best by celebrating this momentous occasion by going outside and actually burning off some of my weight.

Fuck New Year's resolutions and happy Canada Day, everyone!

I completely forgot about it. It reminds of that one Polandball comic where Canada has a little party for itself and then three days later America lets the whole fuckin world know it's their birthday.

And a happy Canada Day back to you!

Thanks, man, I appreciate it!

Well happy 150th birthday.

I didn't know till now, guess we folks of the old continent don't give much of a thought since our countries are way much older.

I think... It's hard to tell you have an accent when you speak that accent your whole life.

It's even harder to tell if we only read you.

It's this old webcomic that depicted the various countries of the world (originally staring Poland) as sentient round creatures. It was a comedy series, usually for things like historical jokes. For example, depicting the US, Canada, and Australia as Great Britain's formerly estranged children, Germany and Russia being the resident psychopaths, and other such things. It was pretty damn funny too.
