Official MLP Movie Trailer! · 2:56am Jun 29th, 2017

Wanna see it?

It actually looks like A REALLY GOOD MOVIE! It has plot (the story kind, not the butt kind) and fantastic animation, and even though the style of animation is different, I think I'm coming around to it now that I've seen a two minute trailer.

Seen it earlier, loved it, and and am looking forward to the movie more than ever now.

I am so going to go on opening day. I don't care if I have to skip work, I will be there!

By the way, do you think that after the movie they will switch art styles for the TV show? I really want them to, because this looks awesome, but I don't see how they could do that with what budget they have for the show.

And with that I am now satisfied   :pinkiehappy: :ajsmug: :rainbowdetermined2: :raritywink: :yay: :moustache:

To be honest, I love the art style for the tv show. I'd have to watch the actual movie to make a decision.

I must go see this. Looks like i need to work on getting my drivers license soon if i want to go no questions asked. Just gotta hope that pinkie ends up doing a couple fourth wall breaks. It'll be the best birthday gift ever to myself!

The animation almost looks like something out of a fan animation at some points. Not that thats a bad thing!

They COMPLETELY won me over when I saw that Starlight isn't one of the leads in this movie.

I'll be right at opening night with all the rest of you guys. :rainbowdetermined2:

Right? I wonder if this style of animation was easier, because making a full length movie would take a looooong time to animate.

Plus, the CGI stuff just has....depth to it, moreso than the normal animation you'd see.

It's really good.

One of my favorite aspect of ponies is the facial expressions. I can say without a doubt that the movie will be filled with them! Just look at that silky smooth animation. Now I'm really excited for the movie. I hope it will be showing near me, cuz I definitely want to go!

Well, they aren't using Flash for this either, they're using something called Toonboom which is apparently leagues ahead of Flash. Perhaps that also necessitated an art style shift.

The Moon Rises also uses Toonboom.

My personal theory is that 1) it allows for more artistic freedom than what Flash allows, and 2) it is staying true to the art style of the original movies. I believe that since this is the first legit legit movie since the 80s, I can totally understand if they are paying homage to them. I think it fits perfectly, but I also cannot deny it will be a little difficult to get used to.

It's like that one Family Guy episode where Stewie and Brian go to different universes, specifically the part where they go to the Disney universe. The difference in animation style from the our MLP to the movie is just as jarring and really, really odd to see.

I stopped watching Ponies around Season 6 Episode 4 (I watched it, so I have to see 5 up to now and EG) because of silly reasons. It's not that I don't like ponies or anything but the reason is rather silly. Probably the stupidest reason not to watch something. I am dreading seeing the trailer just on the off chance someone boos in the theater when it comes on and I have to hunker down in shame in my seat. I am also with my dad in theater usually and I am with him. He knows I like them, so I just feel embarrassed period here. At some point I will get my shit together and catch up massively on everything I missed. If I ever do I will probably watch the movie when it comes on DVD I can pirate it or something or watch it on my own if I get desperate.

The reasons I stopped watching the show are stupid and silly and I feel bad. But I just CAN'T watch it anymore. I bet I am the only person out there that has this reason :pinkiecrazy:

Why even bother giving a shit if someone doesn't like something you do? If you keep this mentality, you'll be crippled all throughout your life.

Not exactly that. It's not that I dread liking ponies in front of other people. My dad knows I like em, a friend of mine sorta knows and tolerates that it isn't his thing. He doesn't say anything. Just shakes his head, ignores it, or nothing at all. The best response really! I have a badass Rainbow Shirt that I wear in public (Sadly got no responses except a guy from King Soopers who took a picture of it without saying what he thought of it otherwise... I guess he took a picture of a cool shirt but he didn't explicitly say if he liked ponies) I just don't want the booing...

It's complicated. I can't explain my eccentricities. I accept the Pone lifestyle... I just... get embarrased if I hear booing in front of dozens of other people and my dad watching a movie unrelated... I sound like a weirdo now. It's just a problem of mine :facehoof:

:moustache:: "First time (EQG) I became a dog instead of another human, and now this! (See 1.12) Just why are the show writers hate me that much!?"

Am I the only one who gets kind of bothered by this?
Couldn't he became a (small) seadragon or something like this?

I wonder where Celestia, Luna and Discord are while the attack happens. An airship with a magically neutered unicorn doesn't seem like anything they couldn't handle. I hope it is explained in a credible way or it just won't seem like a plausible threat. Nice to see the return of seaponies to canon, I hope there is at least one shoobydoop, just for old times sake lol.

I'm curious about how it looks like it's semi-CG.

(the story kind, not the butt kind)

* Though both would be appreciated.

I'm going to go look now. Hopefully it's not as cringe-worthy as the cat-oc-furry creatures imply.

Edit: 10/f**n' 10 no cringe was had. Everypony HYPE!

Different animation software. I think it was Fantasia Magic, or something? I don't know, Rick 'n Morty uses the same.

When I watched this trailer for the first time I thought it was a bit odd, but after watching it again (and again, and again), I loved. The background is really well done, and the characters look very cuddly and cute.

There's something about the animation that reminds me of Lilo & Stitch - don't know exactly what.

Also... Tempest.

Not sure if I can drag my dad to this, probably not.

Looks pretty cool, I wonder If I'll be the only dude without kids to go and see it here on base.

Looks great, but I will have to wait until is streamed or the dvd/br is released.

Also hope Luna and Celestia appear.

Saw it last night it looks really good
