a piece of the next chapter for The Beauty and the Beat (The Vinyl Background Story for Discovering Friendship)
Spike marched into the ruins of the bar, several men in hazmat suits cleaning up after the battle. Vinyl was leaning against the bar, enjoying a drink while Cheerilee sat at half a table taking apart her rifle and cleaning it. Firefly no doubt would be nearby with her sniper watching the area.
"Report," Spike ordered.
"Only two vamps in the entire joint, lower level goons, not even a blip on the radar." Vinyl sighed.
"The goons themselves were just hired hands in the wrong place at the wrong time and in the wrong line of work. The trail is going cold" Cheerilee tossed in.
"I hate to admit it, but they might be right Spike." Firefly added over the comm. Spike exhaled slowly, walking a slow circle, his hands tucked into his jean pockets. He raised an eyebrow, kicking at the floorboards.
"Hm..." he rubbed his chin, widening his stance and lifting up his right arm.
"Maybe we just need to dig deeper" he said softly, smashing his arm through the floor and causing the entire building to shake around them.
When the smoke finally settled they could see a tunnel before Spike, the dragon-kin rubbing his chin.
"A tunnel..." Cheerilee mumbled
"Yes, but to where?" Spike asked as he marched inside.
"You two should follow, maybe you'll learn something." Firefly chuckled over the Comm.
but...but...what about the main story? -is hopeful-

Nyx frowned, watching Scootaloo slip on her backpack.
"Somethin' wrong Nyx?" Scootaloo asked her over her shoulder.
"Well um..." She began, Twilight clearing her throat. Nyx looked over, eyes wide as Twilight held out a messenger bag for her.
"I packed it myself. I borrowed some notes from Scootaloo's teacher and made a few copies for you so you can catch up with everyone," she explained.
"I...I can go with Scootaloo?" she asked slowly as Twilight slipped the bag over her.
"We talked about it Kid, and you really should be going to a real school, even if Twilight would rather teach you herself," Rainbow chuckled, ignoring the glare of death Twilight shot at her.
"Though, I want you to remember the rules..." Twilight began.
"I know, I know. Keep my vest and glasses on and be careful with my magic," Nyx sighed. Twilight knelt in front of her, hugging her close.
"I just worry Nyx...They aren't ready for you..." Twilight leaned back and smiled.
"But you're ready for them, have fun today, okay?"
"I will!"
"WE'RE GONNA BE LATE! LETS GO!" Scootaloo yelled from the door.
