"A Royal Problem" Review · 4:32pm Jun 11th, 2017
Okay, so A Royal Problem is the best episode I've seen since Season 2 gave us Lesson Zero and Dragon Quest.
Normally, I don't divulge too many spoilers in these things, but there are a few things that must be talked about. Check after the break for my thoughts!
First off, the humor in this episode was on point. Celestia and Luna arguing. Luna eating a banana peel and frowning in a picture with a bunch of students at a local school. Celestia talking to herself. I was laughing almost nonstop through parts of this episode.
Utterly fantastic.
Secondly, the writing is second to none. Every character felt so fresh, so real and their interactions never failed, even for a second. Even Twilight, who I thought wasn't really needed came across as realistic in this one. Granted, I feel like the episode stood on its own without her, but still, it was plausible for her to be there, given her personality.
Third, character growth.
Holy crap, character growth. Starlight is coming into her own. Celestia and Luna are revealing their flaws and finding ways to grow, even though their practically Gods in this world. So much goodness to be had.
Finally... PLEASE TELL ME SOMEONE ELSE NOTICED THAT STARLIGHT HAS A SPIKE-THEMED TOOTHBRUSH!
TL;DR
You need to watch this episode. Even if you're not really a fan of the show anymore or aren't caught up, watch this episode. My roommate, who hasn't watched an episode since season 4, heard the episode playing from my room and had to come in and watch it. It was that good!
Anywho, that's all for now. Peace out, guys!
Love,
Famous
It was definitely a heartwarming and open episode. We finally got an issue with the princesses and to see them giving humor aside from being the wise ones among a crowd of goofy little ponies XD

Definitely! It was great seeing the Princesses grow as characters.

Yeah, in the 7 season we've had, we've never really see them with many flaws and emotions and other stuff for a full 20 minutes. It was just nice to see
That means... STARLIGHT COULD HAVE A CRUSH ON SPIKE!

Could be! The show is just doing the Lord's work now, for me.

Looks like it 😁
I was gonna try and point out that maybe it was Spike's own toothbrush that Twiggles picked up by mistake, but then I checked my facts against season six's opening episode, and it turns out his toothbrush is quite plain. That means it really is Glimmy's toothbrush, which makes it all the more adorable (and the implications all the more
saucycreepy).Excuse you.

Explain yourself
I wholeheartedly agree!
It was a fantastic episode.

Moondancer needed to get over herself. If a friend party or whatever doesn't work out, she needed to move on and find some new friends or something. It had been years. Granted, it's okay to be upset at Twilight, but she needed to move on.
