    Fallout Review

It's been a while since I've done some reviews, so I figure I'm gonna review something that I've been getting into a lot as of late; Fallout! I have finally become integrated into the fandom, and I am happy for it, I've been in love with this series more and more as I get involved with it. I've gotten Fallout 4 in honor of the show (which I intend to review at some point after I finish it) and I

    Check In

    Afternoon/evening folks!

Sorry I haven't been checking in as often as I should; rest assured I'm not dead, I'm still here, just been silent as of late. Still working on fics, but also constantly debating with myself on what to focus on next, wanted to make some new stuff that isn't just Shattered or Star Wars. Wanna bring more folks in, do somethin' new.

    Top Ten Films/Series Of 2023/Reflections

First off, Happy New Year's Eve everyone!

Hard to believe another year has passed, hasn't it? *sighs* how time has flown by. A lot's happened this year; more stories, more creativity and entertainment has come, and I've learned more about myself, and I am very glad for that.

Aliens Review · 9:45pm Jun 10th, 2017

Time for the next installment of Aliens. Lets begin!

So Aliens follows up with what happened before as now Ripley after surviving the attack from the Alien on the Nostromo which killed all of her crew, she's back to the company she works for, only to find out some horrible and bull*BLEEP* things have happened. First of all, she's been stuck out in space for 57 years, and now the company has colonized the world where the alien came from and they won't even listen to a single thing coming from the woman who lost her entire crew.

...

You know I hate it when corporations or governments in these movies don't listen. Especially when they're run by complete *BLEEP*s who don't listen to what those who've actually faced the danger. Including the fact they want to enslave those things for an army and they don't see the fact that those *BLEEP*ing things move fast and are downright impossible to take down. It just makes me want to pick up chairs and slug them with them. Don't tell me you don't want to! You know you want to slap every single person who works for Weyland-Yutani for their irresponsible and downright STUPID behavior! It makes you want to freaking YELL AT EVERY *BLEEP*ING PERSON WHO THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO SACRIFICE INNOCENT HUMANS AND NOT GIVE A CRAP ABOUT INNOCENT PEOPLE DYING FROM-- Sorry, sorry.... *breathes in and out* lets try this again.

Ripley doesn't want to deal with the bullcrap from the company, and she has to deal with night terrors from the encounters with the alien in the past, and another fact being that her only daughter is now dead. Yikes... heavy. :fluttershysad: But she's called back to the colony when their signal has been lost, and is selected along with a group of marines to go investigate, and find out what has happened to the colony operation. Only this time... things are going to get much harder than before...

First thing guys, when I first saw this film, I had no idea what we were in for. I wasn't sure if this was going to be downright scary like the first Alien or something completely new. But you know what? It was a mix... of both of those. This movie has a blend of some scary atmosphere, combined with thrilling action sequences. And it blends perfectly! This is a solid movie, I love it, I think everyone around the world loved Aliens when it came out, and you know what, for everyone who hasn't seen it? I suggest you do. Why? Well lets dive into it.

The first thing I must say is the atmosphere in this movie is done perfectly. From the lighting, to all of the sets and scenery, it works perfectly. The scenes with the darkness over on the colony, along with the characters having to move around in those places work very well. Not only that, the sets and the props look amazing! The sets look very well designed, the props look very amazing, and the special effects are really good too! I actually believed that these aliens were real, the aliens actually look like real things in this movie, and I know they aren't. ... I think. I hope not. Cause if they are... oh god we're in trouble.:twilightoops:

The second thing I must say is all of the characters are really great! The Colonial Marines in this movie are all really fun, really entertaining, and they're people you can root for! *GASP* characters we actually care about!? I never heard of such a thing! Seriously, these guys are people you actually care about. The marines for the most part are a bunch of wise-crackers, but it feels very natural and you really get the sense that these guys have worked together for a long time.

Our favorites are all here; Hudson played by Bill Paxton who hams up this character and it is glorious! In fact, just for fun, take a shot for every time Hudson says 'man'. You will be plastered. Also with them is Vasquez, a Hispanic (I believe) who seems like a female Rambo. She's another awesome character in this movie. And lastly, Corporal Hicks played by Michael Bein. No he doesn't die in this movie, although I keep hearing that he dies in each film. I know he dies in Terminator, but that's all I know.

Another character in this is everyone's favorite android, Bishop. Now Ripley has a prejudice against androids since the one in the last movie tried to kill her and was sent to basically retrieve the alien and not give a feather about whether or not everyone else dies or not, but eventually Ripley needs to lend her trust to him... for reasons you guys will find out later in the movie. But the one character that pisses me off is... Burke. Freaking. Burke. I... I hate this guy, so much. You don't know how much I do. Every character that's someone working for a company and who only gives a flying feather about making money, is easily hated by me. At first he didn't seem like that to me, because there were maybe one or two times where he actually had some brains and wasn't completely stupid... but then its ruined when you find out his true intentions later... I'm not gonna spoil it, you find out for yourself and you'll know why I hate this guy... :twilightangry2:

Another great character is Newt, who's one of my favorite characters. Yeah she's a child sidekick, but she's not annoying! Yeah, she's not annoying! You actually feel for this character because of what she's gone through! She loses her entire family in the film, and for the most of the time we first see her, she's so traumatized that she barely speaks. Not only that, she's a smart kid too. She manages to find a way to survive the attack from those things, and she's really good with hiding. So give this girl some credit along with the actress, this is another great character.

And of course, the star of the movie, Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley. There are no words to describe how much I love this character. She's tough, she doesn't take *BLEEP* from anyone, and she's a strong independent woman who doesn't need any man. She's an example of a perfect, badass, female lead. Her actions are believable, her struggles are believable, and you really feel the connection with her in this movie. She's just an awesome character and I loved every moment with her onscreen.

Another thing I have to say is the story here, is excellent! The story doesn't repeat the same story from before, it continues the story where it left off and it does it very well here! And best of all, you don't need to see the first movie to see this one, the movie is kind enough to catch you up to what happened in the first film and it makes it even better. The drama that the characters go through is great, the thrills and excitement that the characters go through are great, the sequences of dealing with these monsters are excited, its just an awesome movie.

Bottom line, this movie is a solid film. I have a few issues here and there, but I can gloss over them and they're not major issues that affect me personally. I highly suggest you see this masterpiece of a film. It is worth your time, it is worth your money, and its still a great action movie today. If you want a great action movie that hits all of the necessary parts that an action film needs to make it amazing, this is the film for you. Its worth viewing from beginning to end. And I personally guarantee you, instead of something generic and bland, I suggest you see film which has tons of heart and passion thrown into it.

I give this film... a 9 out of 10.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you all enjoyed my review for Aliens. Stay tuned for when I tackle Alien 3.... oh boy do I have a lot to say about Alien 3... you don't even know what I've got to say, and you don't know how much I hate this movie....:twilightangry2:

Aliens I was a really good movie, love all the doomed marines and can recall all of their faces and personalty.
Alien 3 had a interesting some really good scenes but really got lost in its own story.
Resurrection, it reminded me a lot like a French comic book to me, because of the dialogue and the directer was also French which explained everything for me.

Prometheus was very interesting to me but the characters needed more characterization to better empathize with them. Alien Covenant... well it has a lot going for it the acting seemed very good to me, but didn't had good enough characterization to understand them or telling them apart most of the time. The scenes and sets where all beautiful (didn't care for the Engineer city at all) several good actions scenes that I really did like. But the moment David came it just somehow felt out of place what really hurt the movie is that I feel that the story was gutted for the sake of the movie length. There is also the gaping plot holes that kept naying at me and it was a real let down that "apparently" the alien was created by David, for which doesn't make sense to me and kills all the mystery for me.
