You thought I was dead, didn't you? So did I. · 2:50pm Jun 10th, 2017
I'd just about given up for a good year now. Didn't really have anything else to say about ponies with all the game-changing stuff happening in the world. Thought about just cancelling all my stories and leaving the task of writing to the many far, far more popular writers on the site. It was boring, sure. I was giving up like a complete failure, true. But as Western civilization declines around me, it's tempting, very tempting, to just follow the example of the rest of Europe and North America and give up.
It turns out I'm not ready to die just yet. Chapter three of Movie Night is a completed draft after... like 6 or 7 months? It's KIA for sure to most folks. You've all long stopped caring and I don't blame you at all. Anyway, look for that one popping up in a day or two, maybe a little longer if Firesight finds anything significantly wrong with the draft. I think you'll find it understandably very different from the rest of my writing given the time gap. I really wanted to try something different with this particular clop chapter and... yeah. It's pretty different. Not my usual thing at all. I hope you like it.
So my last blog promised a commentary on season 7 episodes. That was a mistake. Basically, I can sum up all of season 7 in this one blog so far: mediocre and poorly executed. Season 7 is easily the worst season of MLPFiM ever. Season 1 had its growing pains, straight-up bad episodes and razor-thin story, but season 7 is full-on decline of the entire franchise. There was no story-driven two-parter; characters are written more like stereotypes of the characters they represent in far too many episodes; the good episodes are only slightly better than average while the bad episodes are a joke. A lot of people have complained about the season 4, 5, and 6 way of telling stories, but I really enjoyed it, dammit! 7 just feels like a trip back to the nostalgia days I never asked for. There's no even any of the unforgettable music seasons 1-3 produced.
Hoping for better today. Please, MLP. Don't accept the retirement home just yet. Please don't turn into a cynical wayback machine after all you've accomplished after 6 seasons of constant improvement.
On a final note, Fertile Ground was fully edited by myself and Firesight and a 2017 edition produced. A lot of focus was placed on improving the final-stage clop scene between Rose and Lily. Give it a look! It's seriously the best thing I ever wrote, weird fetishes aside. I hadn't even read a story with those fetishes when I wrote Fertile Ground and am not really all that into them. It was semi-ironic at best. Not much of an endorsement I know, but... trust me it's a lot of fun!
To close on a happy note: these Fimfiction changes are AWESOME! You guys who don't write have no idea how wonderful it is to be able to copy-paste a document over on google docs and just plop the unfiltered mash of colors, symbols, italics and bolds down onto the site with absolutely no errors whatsoever. Hallelujah! Holy crap! If you ever wanted to break into writing on this site, now is the best time ever to do so. Cheers!
Never give up, never surrender!
never give in to it always fight to live.
UPDATE: The latest episode of MLPFiM was fantastic. It will be remembered by bronies for all time as one of the best episodes ever.
