Human beings are wonderfully terrible things.

That is a truth Harley Laurel stands by.

For a self-described cynic who smiles with eyes that have long lost their light, the oxymoron is rather fitting. Perhaps that is exactly what she is – an oxymoron – contradiction after callous contradiction, lie after carefully crafted lie.

This is what I have sown.

Somehow, giving a game to Cynical has evolved into 4 guys in a chat for Danganronpa 1, giving Makoto Naegi a voice like a Bond villain. I don't know whether to be proud or terrified.

Also, Ember's playing Kazoo for it. I think that helps to balance it towards one of those.

When you introduce your friend to something you love, and they immediately become a bigger fan of it than you are.

To the point where approximately 50% of the dialogue between the two of you over the past couple months has been centered on it, and he's diving even deeper into the fanbase then you are, coming up with new videos and fanfictions at a rate far faster than you can actually keep up with, and is immediately pressuring all of his immediate friends to give said thing a looksee, making you wonder to

News about Gone: New cover art, EQD, and Potential Sequel. · 7:45pm Jun 1st, 2017

Hello everyone. Sorry for breaking my old oath and making another blog about Gone, but there's just a couple things I want to update everyone who liked it on.

First off, you might've noticed that the cover art for the story has since been altered. This is because, if we're being totally honest, I was never a fan of the original cover vector. It was really just put in because I couldn't find anything that fit better at the time, and ever since it was uploaded, I've been looking for something that looked a little better. While I don't think the new cover art is perfect, I think it looks better, and the facial expressions and way the duo are positioned felt like it fits a majority of the story better imo (Fluttershy looking out blankly and Rainbow seeming like she's trying to keep Flutters close without coming across as too pushy seems to fit pretty well). If you don't like it, I apologize, but I don't think I'll be returning to the old cover art any time soon. But hey, if you have a picture that you feel would work better instead of the one I put in, then by all means let me know about it.

Second, I've made a few tiny tweaks to the story since its inception, mainly fixing up spelling/grammar mistakes and making the dialogue and narration sound a little smoother. The reason for this is because, ever since it got featured, I've been considering submitting it to EQD, who I've heard is rather harsh in what they will and will not allow. Today, I finally worked up the courage and submitted it to them. I'll keep ya'll posted on whether or not it makes the cut, but in the meantime, wish me the best.

Finally, I've noticed that a few people have shown enough interest in the story to ask if I'm planning on continuing it in a sequel or not. I hate to answer so ambiguously, but the answer really is 'I don't know.' Here's the thing: I actually have been playing around with the idea of a follow up story for Gone for the last few weeks, and have done some first draft work on a story that could continue it. The problem is two fold: One, I don't have anywhere near as much of an idea of where it would go as I did for the first story. While it is true that the first one was based on a real life event, the way said event concluded was kind of anticlimactic for all of the worry it built up, and if I were to keep it as close to life as the first one, it would result in a rather dull follow up, meaning a sequel would have to be almost entirely from scratch, and I really don't know where exactly it would be best to take it, aside from a couple of scenes. In addition, while I have heard a couple suggestions, I don't know if people as a whole would like to see it continued, or if the general majority thinks that adding to it would only detract from the original. I doubt too many people will answer this question, but I'm going to ask regardless: If you liked the first one, would you like to see a follow up to it, and if so, do you have any ideas on how one would go?

I hope to hear from you soon. Every response helps. Cheers

I'm not against the idea of a sequel, or really big on supporting it either. Because of this, I don't have any real suggestions..But I loved the first story for what it was. If you end up making one, I'll give it a shot for sure. I just recommend taking your time!

I don't really like EQD. But best of luck.

And if you do decide to make a sequel. Write on :)

And cheers ^_^

Best of luck! (Even if I have no idea what's EQD)

And... I really don't know if I would like to see a sequel. This story is great and full of feelings. But I don't know if a sequel is the wisest thing to do. I think it would ruin the first part. If you publish one, I'll read it anyway.
