I'm feeling bored 'cause I've been trying to watch Youtube vids for the past half an hour only to get horrid network lag, so let's just get into this, since it takes considerably less bandwidth to post a blog than to buffer a video.
As devices have gotten smaller and smaller, they've often become far less upgradable, or even repairable in many cases. *cough cough* Apple *cough cough*
Many OEM PCs, (The ones that you can get off the shelves pre-built) have easily interchangeable parts with other models in the brand, allowing for mass production of multiple models by simply adding or removing parts. This is why there's sometimes a plastic or metal plate blocking an outlined port or jack, because in a different model, that port may very well exist.
CRT TVs and monitors, while commonly known for their weight, are also very easily scaled to a wide range of resolutions.
Android 3.0 was a specially-designed version of Android made for tablets, while most phones stayed on Android 2.x. After poor reception (compared to what was typical at the time), Android 4.0 was released instead, combining aspects of phones from the Android 2.x era and tablets of the 3.x era, complete with a redesign of the UI.
