Well, we finally got that Celestia and Luna episode. Shame Glimmy and the new writers ruined it. Does the Haber/Miller/Vogel alliance really expect us to believe that even after over 1000 years, Celestia and Luna don't respect each other? · 6:23pm May 20th, 2017

What is it with Glimmer and how cliche stock plots follow her wherever she goes? One or two stock plot episodes where characters are flanderised and dumbed down and written OOC so they'll fit into the stock plot's roles, I can handle, but how many have we had so far? Please, take this number and show it to a Glimfan.

Also, score one for the "Glimmer is incurable and needs to be put down, she can not be redeemed or reformed" theory.

I thought this was a rather good episode in spite of Starlight's appearance.

4540227 It claimed Celestia and Luna don't respect each other.

For years, the Celestia and Luna episode we've always wanted, the episode about them, the episode where we learn about life at the castle, life as a politician and princess, life as Celestia and Luna...

We didn't get that, we got Glimshit. We got Celestia and Luna written OOC to make Glimmy look better. We got character assassination. This is not why people write Assassin's Creed crossovers featuring those two! (Wow that joke was terrible please kill me)

You could replace Celestia and Luna with Applejack and Golden Harvest and nothing important to the episode would change. The Freaky Friday swap can be done with ANYONE.

4540229 Yeah, one would think they had enough time(essentially a whole year in-universe) to get over such petty things.

4540242 Haven't Celestia and Luna been together for a really long time? Isn't Celestia AT LEAST a thousand years old? Shouldn't they be more mature than Glimmy bloody Glam?

4540301 and didn't Celestia have to do Luna's job when she was gone ?

4542725 Exactly! Celestia DID LUNA'S JOB, she should know what it takes and how hard it is! Hell, the whole reason Luna turned evil and tried to make the night last forever? She felt underappreciated. Celestia had to do the magic equivalent of a Mercy Kill on her using the Elements of Harmony, and this ate her up inside for 1000 years. By the time Luna breaks free, Celestia isn't even mad or sad, she's just glad her sister is back. IF ANYONE! IN THE MAGICAL FUCKING LAND OF EQUESTRIA! SHOULD TREAT LUNA WITH RESPECT AND KINDNESS, IT'S CELESTIA HERSELF!

But of course, Vogel, Haber, Miller, and all the other members of Team Glimglam have apparently never even seen that episode. Because fuck characters, fuck character traits, fuck logic, and fuck caring. When a Glimglam episode needs Glimmening, it's Stock Plot time, and characters will be forced into stock roles no matter how forced it is.

Christ, and I thought it was bad when they reduced what Maud is worth just for Glimmer's sake, trying to retcon Starlight's origins and pretend it was about ponies looking down on each other when it was really all about ponies being better than her.

Christ, and I thought it was bad when they reduced what Trixie is worth just for Glimmer's sake, turning her into Glimmer's edgy bitchy best bud who only exists to make Glimmy look better.

Christ, and I thought it was bad when they suddenly retconned Rarity's gem knowledge into nothingness just for Maud and Glimmer's sake.

Christ, and I thought it was bad when they suddenly flanderised Pinkie into an annoying dumbass just so the Typical Miller Idiotic Stock Plot can happen.

Christ, and I thought it was bad when they suddenly flanderised Rainbow into an annoying dumbass just so the Typical Miller Idiotic Stock Plot can happen.

Christ, and I thought it was bad when they suddenly flanderised Twilight into a dumbass just so the Typical Miller Idiotic Stock Plot can happen and Glimmer can "have a lot to Teach stuff to".

Christ, and I thought it was bad when they reduced what the justice system of Equestria and its inherent idealism are worth just for Glimmer's sake.

Christ, and I thought it was bad when they had a whole episode dedicated to yelling "Fuck millennial manbuns! Fuck losers like this! Afwaid to twy and faiwl uwu! Lazy lazy lazy!".

Christ, and I thought it was bad when I was on 4chan all that time ago, staunchly defending the show until I eventually had to admit that yeah, Discord's reformation was really poorly written. They took a great villain and, instead of making him chaotic good or chaotic neutral or a force of chaos trying to do good, made him Fluttershy's cuck and made his personality just like that dumb friend whose douchery you put up with constantly, yet still has the assholery to whine when you ask him not to swear around your underage niece.

This isn't Faust's show any more, or the show of any of Faust's friends. And it shows.

Sweet Celestia, I hope this movie's good.

Sorry for interrupt you and while I respect your opinion of the show and it's characters. Didn't Celestia just do the moon part of Luna job and 1000 years of separation lead to some things being forgotten.

4544521

She didn't do that "Dream" part of Luna's job because that was Luna's unique power! It's established in the episode itself!

4846919
I don't think that was ever canonically established. If it was, feel free to tell me to suck it.

4847116
Put it this way if Celestia did do dream patrol during Luna's absence. Chances are she would get very little sleep. Just saying

4847190
It does. Celestia would broken from the completely lack of sleep, stress, and the things that go on in ponies dreams. Such a job should only be given to ponies who can handle chaos and horrors. I know I wouldn't be able to handle it.
