Barbie surges with purpose/The Surge against Equestria

I've been looking at this game called The Surge. Not sure I want to play it unless there is a demo of it. I remember back in the day, you could get demos of different games instead of just looking at gameplay videos. If I liked a demo, I would usually like the game.

There were exceptions like the Dante's Inferno game. I liked the combat but the platforming and other console BS turned me off of the game. I was lucky I saw a gameplay video. That set me straight.

No, I thought about the Surge as an idea for an MLP fanfic. I have to do some research on the game's story though.

Imagine that humans built huge mega factories with AI controlled master computers. Some people using exoskeletons work in the factories. Something goes terribly wrong and the factories turn against mankind. The people that work in the factory are "repurposed" as soldiers. Unlike Skynet, the network of factories doesn't start a nuclear war. They need humans for certain tasks. One of them is buying stuff. Anyway, humanity loses the war.

A brave AI scientist and some others create a device that opens a gateway to another world. It's a world filled with sentient ponies. Before the scientists can escape, soldiers working for the factories attack the place. The scientist jumps through the portal. The bots hack the computers and learn how to open the gateway to Equestria.

A strange being who hates Equestria convinces the factory Ais that Equestria is a threat and a source of new brains to study. Robots cross into the world.

The scientist meanwhile wakes up on a ship fill of anthro ponies. There's more to this but I probably won't write this story until some other stuff gets done.

I also thought about combining the goings on in The surge with a Barbie fanfic. Somehow adding exoskeletons to models just sounds like fun.

Barbie turned to me. "Skipper, you just have to get the XJ9 upgrade. Now with extra lift and separation!"

I thought about it. She did move with a smoothness and grace, well, it just looked amazing.
"Um, I'm not sure Barbie. I hate needles and pain."

She just smiled at me for a second. I could've sworn that I heard gears whirring. Was this my friend or Robocop's daughter?
Then her grin widened and widened until blood began to trickle out the sides of her mouth. Oh crap! What do I do? I had a few napkins in my purse but I just couldn't touch her. It was just too ewww!

"Barbie, you need to, um, fix your face," I said. Maybe it was time to get up and out of here?

She turned away from me and dabbed at her face.

I got my skinny ass off of my chair. "Um. Barbie, I just realized that I gotta go."

Barbie made some sort of electronic noise then her hands moved so fast they were a blur.

Yeah, it's time for me to get out of here. Thank goodness I was a track star. I started to put some distance between me and RoboBarbie when I felt something grab my shoulder.

I heard, "Lift and separate, bitch!" Darkness came for me.

This might be a fun project for me.
I could do this as an original one shot.
Gotta finish something else first.
