Why I Don't Write Here Anymore

I suppose it's been on my mind for a long time, but it never really occurred to me until recently. And because a few of you have been waiting for some projects I promised I'd finished, you deserve to know, as well.

    This exists . . .

This is a thing that exists. This was made with effort, and money.

And Hasbro actually put their name on this.

    . . .

    . . .

    . . .

I'm gonna step away from this one.

My good friend needs some support

You all probably know HudsonHawk, especially if you know me. Even though I've never met the man in person, he's my best friend on this site, on the internet, and probably ever.

    Embarking on a new venture

Recently I discovered a site for content creators called Daisie. It allows people to post their work and ask for collaborators, and it was created by actress Maisie Williams, whom many of you might know as Arya Stark from Game of Thrones.

Forgive my rudeness, but this has to be said · 10:36pm May 18th, 2017

And it will only be said once . . .

FLURRY HEART IS AN INFANT!!!

She is not an interdimensional overlord. She is not a murdering sociopath. She is not a gang leader. She is not a wicked monarch. She is not a mutated science project. And she is not an overpowered supervillain.

SHE'S A BABY!!

Thunderbolt will not be going after her. Infants cannot be held accountable for their actions because they lack the basic understanding of morality and law, and have ZERO decision-making skills. Their actions cannot be inherently evil because an infant cannot choose to be evil or do evil things. They do not understand right or wrong, so they do not operate under that dichotomy.

Besides, you've seen Thunderbolt's picture. You think he'd go after someone else's daughter after that?!

Okay. Rage over. Carry on. :scootangel:

Well said I tip my hat to you *hat tip*

I did admit I was wondering why the hell people thought Flurry was a threat. Even I know Thunderbolt's not that stupid to get every Princess (And the Prince of the Crystal Empire and it's Captain of the Guard) after his head if he pulled that.

Well, THAT'S good to know about the good-for-nothing gelding, anyway.

Just out of curiosity, though, did I miss something on this subject?
I mean, I've been reading this since the beginning, and I don't remember reading anything that said that Bliunderbolt (my nickname for him now) would be going after Flurry.

Although THIS (comment from The Bricklayer)

Even I know Thunderbolt's not that stupid to get every Princess (And the Prince of the Crystal Empire and it's Captain of the Guard) after his head if he pulled that.

is pretty much bang-in.

Heck, I'n just surprised that a certain BBBFF hasn't shown up at any point to stomp a mudhole in the jerk's ass for the way he's been treating Twilight

4537785 :rainbowlaugh: Oh, you just summed up my thoughts on Thunderbolt perfectly. I have to wonder how he got promoted to that high ranking of a position anyways with that dangerous attitude of his. I'm severely questioning Celestia's judgement with that choice.

Jesus, seriously? He may be kind of an asshole, but he still has a heart. He not a fucking monster.

Wow that was very rude. Hopefully he has nothing to do with the great Thunderbolt Sentinel.

Just wait a decade or so and let the lingering guilt over almost causing a genocide turn her into a social outcast
Gotta love being named after the time you almost killed an Empire single-hoofedly

What about aged up Flurry Heart? I heard she's a succubus. :rainbowkiss:

In her first appearance, she's a newborn.

4537791 Well, thank you, sir. *bows to her esteemed colleague*

Yeah, that's me, too.
If Shining recommended him to succeed him AS Captain of the Guard, then it's not just Celestia's judgement that I'm questioning.

On the subject of Celestia, though, she SERIOUSLY needs to quit letting him get to her with those memory orbs.

'Cause I don't know how it works in Equestria, but THAT just smacks of emotional blackmail to me when he uses those things when she gets ticked at him enough to call him out on stuff, as it's (or SHOULD be if it isn't) a criminal offense.

4537796 This is in response to some of the comments I've been getting over my "Equestria: Civil War" fic. It has nothing to do with any users on the site.

4537785 See above.

Of course it's unreasonable to go after Flurry. But Thunderbolt's all about completely unreasonably zero-tolerance crap so there's no reason to think he wouldn't do this in a second if he thought it would hurt someone else, since hurting people is how he gets his rocks off.

I mean, he's basically the devil with zero redeeming characteristics.

Out of context, I thought this was something completely different...

I had the feeling that was the case. Even if he were to try that, Princess Cadence and Shining Armor would have his head. lol

4537841

Besides, you've seen Thunderbolt's picture. You think he'd go after someone else's daughter after that?!

Who's Thunderbolt?

4537859 He's a minor antagonist OC in my fic "Equestria: Civil War". He's meant to fill the role of Thunderbolt Ross from "Captain America: Civil War" (the film upon which my fic is based). This was made in response to some people thinking he'll use the fic's version of the Sokovia Accords/Superhuman Registration Act to go after Flurry Heart for the damage she caused.

4537848 Actually, I don't think I have. I looked at your past blog posts and skimmed through previous chapters of the story and I don't see anything.

4537865 It's not an actual picture. It's in the story itself. Near the beginning of chapter 7.

4537827 If he gets put on trial, I'd say that's the first in a long line of criminal offences this gelded fool (Yeah, I think he should have that happen to him as well, he's so earned it with all the shit he's pulled) should be charged with. As for Shining, I'm not sure if I read anything about him actually recommending Thunderbolt to be his successor. Knowing Shining, I doubt he would. I think Celestia picked him out on her own or he somehow rose through the ranks by himself.

:ajbemused:
...this needed to be spelled out? I guess I read the chapter before comment wars began.

I can't believe you needed to spell this out to people. It should have been obvious. Are people really that oblivious or stupid to what applies to an infant?

I'll give you a banana, you had the courage to spell this out to other people. Have a bunch of bananas!

NO SHE'S A GANGSTER BABY!!!!!

He seems to be that kind of stallion that would do that, considering he's invaded the minds of ponies or has ordered the invasion of ponies minds to collect the information he needs. Though to be fair lets say he wouldn't do that. why isn't he going after Thorax? after all he and his reformed changelings could go evil again at any time. (unless this takes place before Thorax becomes ruler of the changelings)

That this needs to be said frightens me.

Yeah, I thought so.

4537838 Okay, thanks, Lightning. roundstable.com/forums/images/smilies/kind-of-yall.png

4537888 Indeed.

And yeah, I figured that might be the case.

Mainly because if Shining already knows what he's like, he likely would have told Celestia (in my opinion, anyway), "You DON'T want this idiot as my replacement. TRUST me on THAT one."

4538205 well many people including myself jumped to conclusions regarding the character and his actions. I will admit that I may have gone overboard in that regard. But that was my interpretation of the character since he's basically declaring marshal law on all reformed villains from a certain point of view. But I am still keeping a watch for updates for the fic nonetheless. It still is an interesting concept.

4538195 This is kind of a hazy season six-type area (this story was in development before "The Times They Are a-Changeling"), so I'm not even sure how to include Thorax in the story at all. But those memories were given to Thunderbolt willingly, not stolen.

4538338 Ah. well from the way it's written I assumed that they were stolen.

I can't help back to think back to that underrated Robin Williams film "Death to Smoochy" where his character calls Smoochy the spawn of Satan sent to destroy him. Flurry Heart is foretold to created a utopia of love and friendship and harmony by any means necessary you fools.

How did people not pick this up on their own? This is baffling to me.

Also some question how Thunderbolt can be this much of an asshole to have gotten to the captain of the guard position. I'm going for the explanation of "yeah he may be a total dickhead but you can't argue with results" At least that's what I'm fairly sure happened.

You're right she is a baby, but that also means that right now is the best time to start teaching her.

4538195
Uh... he's not the one doing the invading...

A big thing though is that people don't really know what to do with Flurry Heart. If you compare her to her mother, Cadance did have a clear direction; she is recently married to Twilight's brother and is the princess of love. So people focus on how she's going to fit into the family of Twilight and her love for Shining. Her position as the princess of love is not only for clop but also helping couples that have difficulties as well as platonic love. That was in addition to her position as crystal empress. Her political position leads to stories about her inexperience compared to Celestia, her getting used to imperial and palace life and her position as a sort of third party in any dispute. In addition to that she has a strong hatred for changelings and Chrysalis which is in sharp contrast to her perfect image. Cadance had quite a bit of material for fans to work with. Flurry doesn't really have anything so fans have to make up whatever they can.
Cadance also introduced the crystal empire which gave also material for people but Flurry doesn't bring those things.

This blog post was made in response to so many people theorizing that Thunderbolt (character from E:CW) would use his authority and the Reformed Antagonist Regulation Act (story equivalent to the Sokovia Accords) to contain or punish Flurry Heart. This was to explain how that could never, and would never, happen.

And I got a bit carried away with it. :twilightsheepish:

4700475
You actually took that seriously? That is obviously someone just joking around.

4700484
Once is a joke. Twice is a running gag.

This happened waaaay too often, from waaaaaaay too many people, to be considered a joke.

4700497
Um, surely you have been around the internet right? Jokes like that can be shared and can take on a life on their own. A big example is the lunar rebellion storyline.

4700497
Oh yeah, why are you actually following me anyway?

4700538
Back when I first started here, I followed people who left nice comments on my stories. I guess you must have done that.

I could ask why you're commenting on all my old blog posts, too, actually. :applejackunsure:

4700559
Because they are old and I'd much rather forget about most of them.

In fact, I've been getting quite a lot of messages from you, here and on my videos. It's a little overwhelming, actually. :applejackunsure:
