My Sorry Attempt at a Ponysona · 4:52am May 17th, 2017
Technically, I wanted to get her commissioned from one of the big bat pony artists like MoonSugarStars, but seeing as many of them need reference images...I finally got up my courage and drew a pony for the first time. It actually didn't turn out quite so bad as I thought it would.
So, this is Moonlight Muse, the ponysona five years in the making. She's named for two of my favorite magical girls (Cure Moonlight and Cure Muse), and her name suits my writing style (as in, my muse comes for me only in the wee hours of the night sometimes). She's also basically a perfect copy of my interests and careers, as I'm going for a library science degree and want to go into real-world writing. Moonlight might be a night owl, but she's also a very nerdy, unimposing, and altogether unconventional bat, since I see myself as mainly Twilight Sparkle with some Pinkie and Fluttershy bits thrown in.
I kinda want to draw more ponies now, actually. Coco and Babs obviously come to mind, but I've been wanting to draw Scoots for a while, too. Apparently, strawberry shortcake ice cream bars used to be called "Scooter Crunches," and ever since I found that out, I want to draw her with one. (And Dash with a Bomb Pop, because of course.) So that's probably my next project.
New IGYALL out this week!
I think she's pretty cute. Good job.

Thanks! I'm glad you feel that way... I was really nervous about doing it for the first time.
I jokingly nickname her "Huckleberry" now because I meant to make her a much lighter shade of purple (just a little darker than Twilight). I ended up doing two coats with the copic markers, and now her fur looks like huckleberries.
I'm not sure if huckleberry purple would be too dark for a pony, or if could pass for a coat color.
I've seen worse
Well, far better than anything I could do, that's for sure. For a start, I count four legs...
Nice work! Much better than my attempts. And keep practicing....just like writing, you only get better when you do it!
