Surprise, everyone! ShadowOfCygnus, who also voiced the narrator in the audio production of Johnny Never Knew, has just released a reading of my comedic foray, The Day of the Million Billion Octavias.
How do I love this? Let me count the ways. The production is just right, in just the right places. The "glitching voices" bit sounds at first like an error in the video, which of course is perfect for the intended effect. I'm also very much a fan of the accents of the Guard and the kidnappers--small touches that add a lot to their personalities. And the comic timing, and the narrative emoting, and, and...

While working with Admiral Biscuit on This Masterpiece you should totally read yesterday, I noticed that AShadowOfCygnus had done readings of almost all his stories.
I never listed to audiobook versions of fanfics before this one, so this was probably a good introduction. I liked it a lot, even if I did end up turning off the video and just reading the story myself. (Even at 1.5x speed, an audiobook just doesn't get the information to you fast enough!)
