    Let's make this quick.

I'm alive. I'm still writing. Equestria Exiled will continue.

New cover art: I've been lazy about writing, but that doesn't mean I wasn't thinking about the story!

    Rad, huh?

This lovely bit of art comes courtesy of Dilarus, the utterly fantastic person behind the sweet and emotional Southern Belle AJ and the hilarious, as well as dark and occasionally crass, Meet the Pones.

I adore his stuff. You should too.

    Late Chapter, Probably

Just a quick update. Still alive, still really want to get back to a faster schedule, but been distracted by a few things. Gonna try to get the next chapter up before August 8th, but can't make any promises. Will have it up quick as can be, though!

    BABSCon

Oh right, forgot to mention: I'll be at BABSCon!

On the off chance anyone reading EE wants to say hi, demand I write more often, try to suss spoilers out of me, tell me I suck directly and watch my spirit break, etc, drop me a line and I'll be more than happy to say hi!

Blorch.

Does anyone read these? No? Whatever.

So. Long delay on Equestria Exiled chapter because, frankly, I trapped myself in editorial hell. Basically, wasn't happy with chapter, wasn't sure how to fix it, and just repeat those two things for about six months as I found other projects (and parenthood) to immerse myself in. So, to beat that, I just said "fuck it, releasing is more important than the impossible goal of being perfect" and here we are. And I'm going to TRY and hammer that lesson into my head.

Shigeru Miyamoto may have said "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad," but I prefer to think that a story never released is never released, and nothing is ever going to be perfect. There's a time to just pull up, open the door, and bid your baby adieu. They've got to go out into the world, whether you're ready or not.

Next chapter is already well under way, so I should be getting it out in a month (or, optimistically, less). I feel like I owe you guys something so, how about a title huh? Chapter 18 is currently (and probably permanently) known as "Do or Die."

What else is on the schedule?

Well, I have two entries from the Writeoff written and just in need of some polish. Unsure when exactly I will find time to DO that polishing as I want to get EE back on track, but yeah, that's two more things to look forward to.

I may also add a catch-all "story" for minific entries (450-750 words long) that I don't feel a particular need to expand out to reach FiMFic's minimum length. An Advanced Lesson in Friendship was one of those, but that I felt like filling out a little more. I have at least one I don't feel particularly obligated to try and add anything to and, I suspect, I'll feel similar about this round's entry.

Otherwise parenting continues, life continues, job continues. I think I'll try to blog a little more often. And about stuff other than just "why the fuck aren't you putting out chapters." Stuff like "Hey, this thing is cool and here's why I think so" and stuff like that. Or other bullshit. I dunno.

Thank you for the heads up on the chapter. And sorry the story is feeling that way.

4533257 Isn't really the story itself (though I will, one day, go on at some length about the unique issues that EE has presented me). Was just this specific chapter that was kicking my ass. I'm actually super hype for the next couple. :p

Been half a year, is this dead? :rainbowhuh:
