S7E09: "Honest Apple" · 10:35pm May 14th, 2017
Not bad at all. Another new writer, and this one did a solid job. It felt a bit like an episode from five years ago, but that's not really a complaint. Applejack finally being told something I've always wanted to see her have to deal with was funny, and I almost feel like adding a star just for AJ's "literally" correction, but I'll resist the temptation. Better than episode 8, albeit not quite as good as episode 7. Also, Rarity's rocking out might have been ridiculous but was nevertheless golden. Overall, a solid ★★★. (Bear in mind that three stars means an episode I actively enjoyed, not a merely average one!)
I have high hopes for the new guy now. I'm about as interested in fashion as AJ is, and it's hard to get me invested in low-stakes stories, but he somehow pulled it off.
BTW, am I the only one hoping to see Apple Bloom's new cowpony hat more often?
4532998 I wouldn't mind seeing the hat a bit more, either. After all, as AJ pointed out, AB is a little more into that stuff than most Apples!
