War Anthologies Part 9 - The Second Crystal War - The Return Of The Crystal Empire · 3:04pm May 10th, 2017
Time for peace was short lived as the princesses went to see the Crystal Empire after it’s returned. Celestia felt uneasy the entire tie she was there. However, Luna felt almost happy. She couldn’t place why, only that it felt very different.
Soon they met the new king. They were shocked to find that the new king was at the time seemed like a unicorn. They half expected Golden Williams or Blood Diamond to be ruling. They wonder what happened to their uncle, but that concern would have to wait. For now, this King Sombra seemed just and kind.
As time moved on though he proved to something even more. Celestia didn’t realize it in time as Luna began to become close to the king. Luna would spend all of her free time with him. Celestia couldn’t figure out why Luna was acting in such a way. However soon things would grow more dangerous.
Out of nowhere, Celestia received a wedding invitation. She was shocked to find that the wedding was for Luna and King Sombra. Arriving too late and getting into a battle with Selena Moondie, Celestia found out that this had been a ploy to get Blood Diamond out of hiding. Celestia was forced to watch in horror as Blood Diamond was killed by Luna and Sombra. On the same day Sombra revealed himself to be not a unicorn at all, but a dark alicorn.
Celestia fought her way through the Crystal Empire and confront her sister and Sombra only to find that with the help of Sombra, Luna had made peace with Nightmare and the two spirits in one body would stay beside Sombra not matter what. She found out that Sombra killed their uncle and Golden Williams and now stood over all the lands in the north.
With Sombra now over all in the north he banished Celestia back down to Equestria. Upon her arrival, the New Shangri-La went through many changes in a short. None knew exactly why. Some were even thinking that she was no longer in control.
To assert that she was, she called for a peace treaty between Equestria and the Crystal Empire. She called all to a small city called Canterlot, to try and assert the peace in a place of neutrality. However Sombra could care less about peace, and apparently the same could said about Luna.
Luna arrived with Selena Moondie by her side and launched a full attack on Canterlot while Sombra launched an attack on the New Shangri-La. With the two prong attack hitting, Celestia could only stand on so much ground.
New Shangri-La was destroyed and Sombra moved his force to invade Canterlot next. Celestia tried to convince her sister once more to side with, but she refused. Celestia was forced to fight her own sister. A battle that would only lead to one outcome.
When Sombra later arrived, he found the most shocking. Luna was dead in Celestia’s arm. Sombra became enraged and fought Celestia. However, an ally of Sombra stepped forward and saved Luna with the darkest of spells.
Celestia looked in greatest shock to find that Sombra’s ally was none then Emperor Grogar alive. The emperor resurrects Luna and removed her from the battle. Afterward, he left before Celestia could even question how he had returned.
Meanwhile, Sombra fought Celestia through a torn and burning Canterlot. Celestia had nopony left to stand with her. She was fighting purely on her own. And in the end, Sombra defeated her.
He left her defeated and severely wounded in a burning to die. He had won and Celestia had lost. With nopony to stop Sombra, he laid waste to all of Equestria. Seemingly nothing survived his wrath.
Once he was finished, he returned to his empire to rule over it all with Luna by his side.
Celestia laid in the burning city, covered in tears and blood. She knew death would soon be there. She had nothing left at all, or so she thought……..

Author's Notes: Well, this was a tough one to work with, especially since my current story Twilily Saga: Past, Present Or Damnation is kind of covering most this very event. Now, this doesn't mean that I completely spoiled everything, I just being a little flexible with the information. Only giving away what is needed here. If you want much better details then you are going to have to read the story. Anyway, the next part will be done in two weeks, on May 24th. May is the only time I will be doing this, so try to keep up.
