Dear Princess Celestia... · 12:38am May 10th, 2017

Today, I learned a valuable lesson in change. Not that change is necessary, I already knew that. I learned that change is hard. Just deciding a direction to take your life in, isn't enough. Neither is simply having a list of morals and ideas in you head. You have to apply yourself to everything you do, and you have to understand that it's not going to happen quickly.

Sometimes, you can't tell if you've changed or not. You look around, and everything seems the same. You feel like the same pony you've been your entire life, and you want to trample that pony underhoof. Other times, you'll want to give up. You'll probably actually give up.

That doesn't have to be the end, though. Failure is a part of life. I've been struggling with that lesson recently, and I'll probably struggle with it for eternity. Failing is a consequence of trying, and accepting and improving on that has done nothing but improved myself.

I'm not who I wanted to be three years ago. I'm not where I thought I'd be last year. But I have changed. And for better or for worse, I'll never stop changing.
