S7E06: "Forever Filly" · 11:00pm May 6th, 2017
This episode seemed to go on forever, and not in a good way. The pace felt like "Fluttershy Leans In", but without Fluttershy. My least favourite ep of S7 so far. Sorry, Fox brothers -- you still don't have the best record with me. ★★

I'm not a fan of Sassy Saddles, so I was mightily relieved she wasn't in the entire episode. Rarity was okay, Sweetie Belle was a TV-Y rated obnoxious teenager, "Chip" was there for no reason but plot convenience and Zipporwhill... well. I really liked her in "Filli Vanilli", but then that was an episode I liked vastly more than this one. Here, she was really a bit grating in her stupidity. We know she has a dad, so didn't he ever point out that she was treating Ripley like a puppy for too long? Mind you, Rarity and Sweetie have a dad too, but goodness knows where he is now. When Rarity finally realised how she'd been treating Sweetie, that was cute, as was juxtaposing it with the Zip/Ripley thing, but it was a bright spot in an otherwise dull episode. Against general sentiment, "Sisterhooves Social" isn't a favourite of mine, but I'd still rather watch it than this. My opinion of the Fox brothers has not improved.
Goddammit, I fucking knew the moment I said this was a good episode that everyone was going to hate it. D:
