    Something in the works? Maybe?

A thestral, a siren, a zebra, a dragon, a changeling, a kirin, three unicorns, three pegasi, three earth ponies, and three alicorns all walk into a bar.

They then get kicked out because that's way too many characters with "primary/secondary protagonist" billing for one story.

    Follow-Up Clarification

    Vagueposting aside, here's what's up:

I'm not going to worry about all my stories at once, that way leads disaster as has been proven time and again already. Still want to try to do something with Of Responsibility, The Atlantis Scenario, Contrast, etc; but not yet.

    [Snippet] The Ponyville Numbers Station

Sunset Shimmer set about unpacking her things. Though still reluctant toward the idea of staying in Ponyville long-term, she was at least going to make sure she was comfortable here during her visit. After a solid couple hours of work, the previously-bland master bedroom had been transformed into something far more cozy. The bed was made, her spellbooks and theory texts placed snugly on a

It's Ironic, Really · 1:39pm May 3rd, 2017

When Season 4 ended, I was saying that their increasing inability to write a solid adventure story was dragging the show down, and I'd like a greater emphasis on Slice Of Life.

Now I'd take a dozen Twilight's Kingdom-esque messes, just so long as there are actual stakes again. And please stop ramming Flurry Heart down our throats.

Season 5 was good about this, though. It wasn't until 6 that things really started to drag, and it looks like 7 is off to a bad start.

Like I always says: Be careful for what you wish for.

I feel like I've turned into a cranky old woman threatening kids with an empty shotgun, where MLP is concerned

I still haven't watched most of the second half of Season 6, I don't like the direction the show's been taking, and the less said about a lot of the fandom... Yet I keep finding myself checking FIMFiction and EQD every so often and then posting a short blog whining about how the results still haven't changed. I really should just let go and move on, yet I keep checking back and getting disappointed every time.

It just feels like I'm getting way too worked up about a kid's show, but every time I think about it nowadays I just feel disappointment and frustration. I want to still like and enjoy it, but I just... don't. But I can't make myself just let go for some reason.

I need to either let it go completely, or try to get back into it and find the good in the more recent stuff. As it stands, I'm stuck in between, too frustrated to dive back in but still caring too much to give up on it completely.

Maybe actually watching the new episodes will help.
Maybe it'll just make things worse.

I'm not alone ;_;

I'm honestly loving season 7 so far. Its off to a far better start than season 6(I hated season 6 mostly). But, that's just my opinion.

4518479 You haven't been alone since season five.

Aww... sorry to hear that old friend.

I didn't really enjoy Season-6 either, not the front half at least and even the second half was a mixed bag at best. Season-7, however, I really do feel like things have picked for the better. Every one of the five episodes we've gotten so far has been a delightful treat and I can really imagine how I could be any happier... well, maybe less discord (as in none at all) in the first episode, but even that was low key enough for me to look over.

Still, I'm sorry that you aren't able to share in that happiness. I still remember what it was like in the first half of Season-6, to be disappointed episode after episode, even as everyone else around me was still singing the show's praises. The worst part about the was the feeling of losing touch, not just with the show, but with the brony community and all the wonderful friends I've met through it.

I wish I could tell you it will get better, that the "magic" that first made this show special to you will come back, but there are never any such guarantees in life. Maybe you and the show are drifting apart, but this crazy horse fandom has grown so much bigger that just that and so if it pleases otherwise you to do so, if the art and the fanfiction, and most of all the community is something you want to be a part of then there's absolutely nothing wrong with still calling yourself a brony even if you don't watch the show anymore.

Also, not all may be lost for you yet. We've still got an actual movie coming out later this years, not another instalment of the high school AU, but an adventure starting the legit candy colored tiny equines themselves. Maybe that's why things are a little mundane right now on the show, because their saving all the "epic" world shaking stuff for the big screen.

4518956 So Season 7 is an improvement? That's good to hear... I may have to give it a shot at some point, then.

I think that was part of it, as well, yeah; most of the people who I talked to had either already moved on, were still really loving it, or were unresponsive. Plus I was feeling kind of burnt-out myself after that big push to do the "Amazing August Avalanche" thing last summer.

Good point!

Ooh, yeah. I've been kind of nervous about the movie, been staying away from any teaser stuff or 'behind the scenes' stuff for fear of spoilers. Saw some new character art was leaked a while ago, but I didn't actually look at the images. Waiting for a good trailer, hopefully that might help bring back the hype.
