I'm pretty sure words go in here somewhere...
So a few years ago I found a story that featured a mute filly. I want to find this story again but have no idea where to look. The main thing I remember about it is this filly had notecards to communicate with and was born with the problem and it was mostly slice-of-life, with the filly going to school with the crusaders.
Anyone remember this story?

If not then I'll say that there is a filly with a similar situation much further into the series but she eventually learns the pony equivalent of sign language. It's definitely not the best series I've read but when I saw the description I immediately thought of this series, unfortunately the author's... unique way of splitting his arcs into several short stories makes remembering which one introduces the filly is rather problematic.
To think I'd probably have forgotten about it if I wasn't trawling through old stories and checking up on their authors (actually how I stumbled onto this very blog-post).
