    Words in print

Recently, I've been asked for permission by Avonder to include Whom The Princesses Would Destroy... in a story anthology he's putting together. I'm not one for hoarding words and I gave it quite, quite gladly.

    You'll find it here.

    Now(TM) with Travel Advice

I'm safely ensconced in my hotel room in Ludwigsburg. Hope to meet at least some of you. To increase the odds of this happening, I offer the following advice:

    Soon(TM)

I will be flying to Galacon 2018 in under twelve hours and I expect I will be safely in Ludwigsburg within 24 hours. I will be hard to contact during this period, though I think I've acquired a method of fool-proof Internet access no matter where I am (aside from six miles straight up, of course).

Hope to see many of you soon!

    Happy July 20th!

...or July 21st, depending on your timezone.

49 years ago the first manned Moon landing was accomplished. It is one of my favorite moments in history (To learn about my favorite you may have to wait for December the 9th), and to celebrate I've re-edited Hoofprints to be a little less... ah, draft-y.

Pony words -- an update · 12:54pm Oct 3rd, 2012

No, I wasn't struck down by lightning made of angry bees[1]. Close, though. Close. You may not know this, but quaternions are God's punishment for a sinful world.

But that's not important. No, the important thing is that my very first story, Whom The Princesses Would Destroy..., is completed. It's been edited, formatted and successfully posted onto FiMFiction. I even managed to find a semi-decent solution for footnotes.

The only thing remaining now are the tender mercies of the EqD pre-readers.

[1] It's a long story.

Euler angles FTW! [1]

I promise I'll read it as soon as it gets through the approval queue. [2]
If your comments on the site are anything to go by it will be brilliant but will probably require at least one quick dash to the dictionary. [3]

[1] I know your pain... I'm completing my undergraduate thesis at the moment and transformation matrices between various coordinate systems are the bane of my existence.
[2] And I happen to be awake and online, etc. etc.

Oh sweet Celestia. Euler angles. Agh. Agh. Agh.

I you ever get the chance to try to extract the Euler angles from a rotational matrix, eh, don't.

I promise I'll read it as soon as it gets through the approval queue. [2]

I will say this: It features the word batrachian.

At last! Some understands my[1] love for footnotes!

[1] Forbidden, of course.

The fine fellows on EqD haven't contacted me yet. It may be a while. I do believe I shall calm my nerves with a bottle of that Ol' Janx Spirit.

You now have me wanting to make a d20 spell involving bee lightning. I'm not sure if it would be conjuration or evocation...

Oh, and good luck with the editors.

Oh, conjuration for sure. Take Insect Plague pull the duration to 1 round/level, and limit it to one swarm, but give it a secondary effect of 1d6 electricity damage/level (reflex save for half;maximum 10d6) to the area in which the swarm is summoned.

And, of course, change its name. I suggest Power Word: Not the bees! AHHHHHHH Ahgarbulagabah my eyes! my eyes! AHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHhhhurgh!

Oh, and good luck with the editors.

Thanks!

Gods ain't gonna help you son, you'll sorry for what you've done. Them gods gonna hurt you son, when you play with a loaded gun.

I now have an image of Applejack as Rucks, I really do.

Holy crap. Too bad I'm only like 1% of the way through that game, and that I've sworn off apocalyptic Ponyfic... because Bastion / Pony seems like it would be Best Crossover. I can totally see Applejack narrating sadly about the lost glories of Old Equestria. it even has the same number of syllables as "Caelondia", for Pete's sake.

Looking forward to your first story!

399646
As for Bastion, if you finish any game this year, make it that one. I've been playing games for many a year now, and that was an...experience. Seriously. Gave me chills.

As for crossover, there is a non post-apocalyptic way to do it, but I can't say how precisely I'd go about it without spoiling the game for you. And this, this I will not do. It would be a crime.

Looking forward to your first story!

Thanks. It means a lot.

I don't know. Of those two siblings it's surely Applejack who's got the gift of gab. Also, an appropriate hat. Hats are v. important.

Yeah, just from the opening levels, I can tell it's going to be good. I can't believe I've got a sense of loss and emotional investiture from a flippin' dual-stick brawler, but there you have it. Also, the music is catchy. "The Sole Regret" is actually on my Applejack playlist already.

So, uh, where is it? Stuck in the queue? Did you forget to mark it public?

403141
I sent it to EqD, and didn't want to make it public because they may demand edits. It's been a few days and I've received no word from them. Apparently, it's going to take a while. Either they are swamped, or my fic doesn't look appealing and is sitting in the queue, unclaimed. I'm really, really sorry that you guys have to wait. If it looks to be taking altogether too long, I may just post it here and let the EqD situation fall as it may.

400157 Beg pardon, excellent sir; but is this the Bastion in question? It sounds intriguing

448881
So it is. One of my favorite games. And I happen to know Skywriter finished it and loved it too. So it comes highly recommended.

448898 Well then, it seems I have a game to acquire. Thank you highly.
