"Potential" New Story

Hi all! I've got good news. I've worked up enough inspiration to write a new story! It isn't going to be a crossover before you ask. I wanted to try adding a story with my own elements and ideas and see where I measure up so this will actually be me experimenting in a few parts. I'm pretty sure this idea has already been used by some other person or the other but I couldn't really find any story with this premise when I searched around for it and it didn't seem overused so I decided to go ahead with it. If there is one story like it then this story is my own twist on it I guess.

Basically, thousands of years ago, Celestia failed to banish Nightmare Moon when she turned evil. Fast forwarding to the time of the actual show, Twilight lives in an empire of eternal night. Ponies are somewhat oppressed and are conducted under a tight and strict rule. After a certain event happens, Twilight is set on a journey to figure out what exactly happened to make the kingdom the way it was. Kinda like my other story actually. Speaking of which...

I am working on the chapter so you can ease your fears about that. I must warn you that there might be a few pov switching in the current future chapters and I know some people are deterred by that but I feel it is necessary in order to develop and flesh out the characters more when they appear in future plot arcs. Don't worry, most of the ponies will have many scenes and not just disappear and reappear randomly. It shouldn't be that much pov switching, just a few chapters, but that's my opinion. Everyone has different standards after all.

So that's all there is for now. Hopefully my new story idea doesn't disappoint. I'm learning as much as I can about the lore of the fandom to plan it out and am trying out some new writing styles to boot.
