A few months ago, I lost my aunt to cancer. This was a devastating loss to myself and many members of my family. Personally, I was in a bit of a shock. I'd known it was coming, but her health had declined so quickly. To help me cope with losing her, I did a few things. For one, I completed my last Lyric tale, The Wonder of Winter. For another, I talked to many of my friends and loved ones. Their support meant more than I can truly express, and I am forever grateful for it. On top of that, my dear friend Will-Owl-the-Wisp was kind enough to take on a request drawing, which she has recently completed.
When I first conceived of this piece, it brought me great comfort. Of course I know that Halo isn't real, that she is my own creation, but I liked to think that, if she were real, she would be there to meet my aunt and to bring her to a better place. Even looking on it now makes me tear up and my chest tighten, but it also brings me peace. It's healing.
Wisp, thank you for doing this. This really means so much more than words alone can say. Thank you.
I am sorry to hear that you lost your aunt to cancer. I personally lost both grandparents on my mom's side, my step grandmother, my first pet cat, and my uncle within the span of a few years. So I understand how it feels. Many hugs and snuggles to you.

*hugs* Thank you, Lyra. And I am sorry to hear of your losses as well.
Unfortunately, my aunt is not the first member of my family to have been lost to cancer. But the rest were lost so long ago, when I was too young to understand what had happened.
Many hugs and snuggles to you, too.
That is such a beautiful picture ;-;
4494374 No problem my friend. I am always here if you need support or someone to talk to.

It really is. I am so thankful that she did this, and it is absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you. You really are a wonderful person, Lyra. And of course, if you ever need support as well, I'm always here for you.
I know how it feels to lose someone you love. We all do. It hurts and sometimes it takes a while to heal. But I promise you, Bard-Sensei, it does heal eventually. We're all with you, brother (or... sister?).

Thank you, King-kohai. It does hurt, but time has helped to heal this particular wound. Thank you. And if you ever need anything yourself, please feel free to reach out.
And it's sister in this case.
4494429 Well then, God bless you, sister.
4494435
Thank you, King. You as well.
4494442
*hugs* You have nothing to apologize for, my friend. You always being here and offering your friendship and support is more than enough.
And thank you, my friend. I certainly like to think that this is true.
4494411 D'awww thank you very much. It is appreciated. XD
4494535
You're very welcome!
*hugs* May your aunt be surrounded by angels my friend.
4494551 Yay!

*hugs* Thank you, Watercolor.

My sincerest condolence, Lyric. Wish you and your family the best. May Halo guide your aunt.
I believe your mother was taken off mate, taken to a better place. Whether she stayed there or not, I leave that in the hands of God.
But nonetheless, we're here for you mate, and I'll be praying for you and your family.
I do have to ask though mate, for my heart won't let me go without asking. Do you believe in God?
4494903 Do I spot a fellow Christian? Or maybe you're Jewish? Or maybe you're just someone who believes in God?
4494964 I am a Christian mate.

Thank you, Lazydrill. I am doing better now, but it was hard initially.

Haha, I actually don't ascribe to any religion myself, but I have seen interesting things happen...

Here's a song that I know would help me in sorrowful times,
I know how it feels to lose a loved one. I hope you continue to recover Bard *hugs*

Thank you, my friend. I shall be sure to listen to it soon, and to share my thoughts on it when I do.
