shhhhhhhhhhhh just breaking the site again don't mind me

very, very, very experimental fic continues its slow progress as the deadline for bicyclette's sci-fi contest draws near. these chapters are about on-par with what if in terms of length, but oh boy have they been an interesting experience to write.

hey hey btw i've got a (couple of) public minecraft server(s)!

yeah so anyway here is my webbed site lol. there's an MC Classic server for building whatever, and an MC Beta 1.7.3 server for playing survival. I might eventually also put up a modern vanilla server as well, though given how I'm hosting a bunch of servers already for friends and a couple of discord servers, idk if the little slab of a PC I'm using to host 'em all would be able to manage lol.

summer break is almost here :V

basically got one week left lol. got an experimental fic in the works that's a sort-of direct sequel picking off right where Splintershard ended. no prior reading is necessary.

MAN it's been a while since I've toyed with writing styles.

Random Facts #64 · 10:26pm Apr 12th, 2017

Dogs evolved from wolves.

An experiment was carried out on foxes to recreate the domestication of wolves. The end result were foxes that acted like puppies.

Not a fact for sure, but from what I can tell, most cats seem to have an ingrained hatred for all things, living and nonliving.

Dogs make very good burgler alarms, considering just how little it takes to set them off barking.

It's fine to put Walmart goldfish in cold water. They're perfectly fine with it.

Not true. If a cat is outwardly aggressive then most likely there is something wrong with the environment they live in. In a general sense, there are bush cats and tree cats. Ones that like to stay low to the ground and those who like to climb up to tall places. I'd have to look up the specifics again to tell you exactly how each type reacts when the parameters of their environment aren't to their liking.

How cold are you talking? Because if I'm not mistaken they do have their limits as well.

Dogs evolved from wolves.

Umm, no they didn't. You (humans) selectively bred the ones most receptive to human interaction. Basically the most even tempered. Those wolves chose to stay with the humans because then they were always fed, and they liked that idea, even if it meant they didn't get to choose their own mate. The things that are done in the name of food.

According to the definition of selective breeding, it is evolution. Evolution by human selection. That being said, the fact wasn't specific enough to make that distinction.

4494278
Well, yes, it is evolution. And yes, the fact wasn't really specific on that point, I just wanted to expand on it. And I didn't think that was evolution, but now that I think about it, yeah, I can see it. Thanks for that.

4494283

No problem. The wonders of evolution fascinates me. :pinkiehappy:

4494287
The wonders of video games fascinate me.:pinkiehappy:

4494289

I can't say no to a good video game now and again. :ajsmug:

Not a fact for sure, but from what I can tell, most cats seem to have an ingrained hatred for all things, living and nonliving.

That one was just a joke I cracked. :derpytongue2:

By cold, I mean around 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Sorry. It's just getting harder to just zip these out of my head. I've been looking things up recently instead of just looking at whatever and then spewing what I knew about it. :facehoof:

4494293

Heh, you're up to #64. That's a lot of facts; not every one of them is going to be pristine. One of them is bound to be rough around the edges, depending on one's mood and outside circumstance in that given day.

4494301

Not going to lie, I've had pretty downer of a day myself. :twilightoops:

4494309

Honestly, I've been thinking about one of my friends on here all day long. I was worried sick, thought I may have been insensitive to them somehow... :fluttershysad:

Wait... since when did Walmart sell goldfish? And I don't have cats myself, so I wouldn't know if they hated everything, living or not. I know my parrot hates everything that's living or not, as it'll try to drown anything given to him, such as your fingers, toys, clothes, you, little children, and the list goes on.

i'm sad that number 64 had to be about dogs. i wish it was about cats: random REAL fact #64: every cat is a true tiger, but we never see it, because they hid it, so don't get them mad, or else you be faced with a 88mm cannon (HA, get it? A Tiger Tank is armed with a 88mm cannon but we never see it) don't piss of cats, or even hurt their owners. i've seen videos of cats protecting their owners from cats. but if their owner is in a life and death situation, then their cat bring out "The Big Cannons"

4494267 my cat is protective, loving, snuggly, adventurous, and even leaves a little present at our feet at the front or back door for us (usually a lizard)

4494674 bit 64 is my fav number T-T

4494662

Then he must happy with his environment. The operative word in my sentence was if. I was merely trying to explain why a domesticated cat might become aaggressive in a household.

Also being outdoors gives them free reign to scope out their environment.

4494456
I hope you meant to say parrot because you said parent.

4495257 Yeah... that's what I meant to say...

4495264
Well then, :rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:
Bad typo there.

4495272
I am an editor, I look at it in other people's stuff. And sometimes it's funny, sometimes it is just :facehoof:. It really depends.

4495274 You don't want to see what my comments look like when I'm typing them on my phone. There's a reason why I have to go back through and fix them by hand.

4495281
4495282
Do they look like that?

4495286 No. I'm replying from my computer right now. I generally wait until I have access to a full, physical keyboard before replying.

I actually knew that about dogs and the experiment.

4495288
Then how come you replied twice? Does your mouse double click?

4495333 Oi. I didn't even notice that.

No, it's a Fimfiction glitch that I've seen a couple other people experience before. Though to be fair, it very well may just be a double-click. :twilightsheepish:

4494805 Actually theres more ways a cat can become aggressive: if you get it fixed right at the wrong time D:

And yeah, I'm pretty sure "She" loves the environment around her: TONS of open space in the household, lots of territory for her to claim outside, a mostly friendly neighborhood, etc. , etc. . Yeah, i bet she LOVES it.
As i'm writing this, she is literally right now sitting next to me on my bed. dawwwww

I find it ironic that she loves the outdoors when shes a completely black cat, and we live in Arizona... how does she never get as hot as us Humans?!?! XD

4494456

Wait... since when did Walmart sell goldfish?

I took ever since i saw this post to figure out that you didn't mean by the cracker XD
i didn't know you meant by the pet goldfish :P

4495559

There are health-related risks that come with neutering/spaying your cat while they are in heat. Most veterinarians would/should recommend that you wait until they are not in heat to perform the operation because it could intensify the blood supply to the tissues and uterus. The aggression you'd see resulting from the operation while they're in heat could be associated to this risk.

I was not consciously aware of this before, but it makes sense.

4495601 my grandpa's cat had that once, it was so sad, it used to be so loving T-T
