Don't you hate it when failed updates royally screw over your computer? · 11:42pm Apr 6th, 2017
Writing this post from my laptop. My main computer was updating itself, but once it finished and restarted, I noticed that it took a substantially longer time to log me in than before, and once it did, to my utter shock and horror, the desktop, my wallpaper, the settings app, and the taskbar and start menu were all missing.
I did a bit of snooping, and it seems like the update files apparently somehow got corrupted during the downloading phase. I'm not entirely sure how, (*cough* Comcast maybe *cough*) but it looks like I'm gonna have to do a full system reset. I'm currently backing up all of my files and creating a system image. I'm definitely not looking forward to restoring the hundreds of programs that I've installed after I reset the system.
Your computer got what I got... except mine wasn't downloading errors but a virus from putlockers...
4486820 I heavily regret installing an unstable Windows Insider build instead of waiting another week for the Windows 10 Creator's Update to release.
I'm currently backing everything I have up onto an external drive so that I can do a full system reset.
technology has been screwing me over all week.
