I felt like doing a little signal boost for this, since it seems fun to me.
Loganberry has created a Flashfic group for 150 word flashfic contests, and the first one opens on April 1st!
Once it starts, you have three weeks to write a flashfic of up to 150 words for a prompt. He'll then judge them himself, and while there aren't any prizes, the winner gets to pick out the next months prompt. You can only submit one per contest, it can't be mature-rated, and he's excluded crossovers. The rules are here.
There's also a practice thread that you can post as many stories as you want on the theme(within 150 words). I've posted two there so far.
You obviously don't have to join, but 150 words is pretty short, so if you're having trouble convincing yourself to write something, it might be good practice. I'm rather curious how much story you can fit in 150 words, too...

I'm hoping it'll be good fun, but I'll be open to suggestions for rule tweaks after we've had the first contest.

No problem! Figured that might get it a little more publicity, and the more members we have, the more entries.
And yeah, there's plenty of time after the first contest to see what needs to be adjusted. Maybe an anthology of Flashfics from the contests could be made at some point, too...
BTW, does the prompt ever change on the example thread?
