The Bridge: Theogony · 8:34pm Mar 16th, 2017
Mountains birth,
Rains relieves,
Forests sprout in girth,
My care appeases
I will halt you,
With the mantle of harmony,
I am the Goddess of Creation.
Mountains crumble,
Hurricanes roar,
Hill turn to rubble,
My wrath soars
I am your opponent,
The Invincible warrior,
I am the God of Destruction
There must be Destruction, there must be Creation.
If one of Creation rises, one of Destruction will ascend.
If Creation, old or new, stands to fight Extinction, Destruction will be unleashed.
History has been changed...
Let them fight...
- record of Empress of Imperial Remnant, Defender of the Equestrian Realm and Mover of the Sun and Moon, Flurry Cadenza Heart
- - Years after Bagan
How interesting. It's like a duel of poetry between the elements of Creation and Destruction explaining their ever-lasting conflict. And considering who i know it's about, it's quite fitting. Yet i wonder if it may fit into some prophecy we have yet to see. Questions for the future, perhaps...........if there IS one.
Okay.
So this is looking more and more like a war through time as well as dimensions. We've already seen King Ceasar (hope I'm spelling that right) play a part in the fall of the Crystal Empire. Now it's looking like a Flurry Heart from a future where Bagan won, is trying to undo her timeline.
Tarb, you don't know what you've created, do you?
Wow
Well, that was ominous.
Given Destruction is listed as separate from Creation and Extinction, that just leaves a certain goat as being what that's describing.
Wow well done........Does this mean your going to make another side story?
4459033
Nah, this is foreshadow for Bridge proper
4459008
4459018
4459019
4459023
Hint to ya'll. I do not choose words lightly. Might wanna research the title some if you want to sniff the right hint.
4459037 Ah :D Well I can't wait to see what the future for what your story has for us :D
4459043 Theogony: basically a poem detailing the origin story of the Greek Gods.
So my guess is either the God of Destruction refers to Grogar or a new god altogether.
This... is incredible!
But I have a feeling this is a hint as to what would happen if Godzilla and his friends failed....
All I can say is that this is freaking amazing.
4459043 I saw someone here mentioned it being a poem on greek god origins. So that may mean we'll see the backstory of our warring deities........including a dark one who has yet to emerge. I like it!:)
Welp, looks like Flurry was the only Alicorn left in her future.
i looked up Theogeny on Wikipedia and it mentioned a particular section between Zeus and The Muses, Zeus was the strongest of the Greek deities and had a lightning motiff so i suspect the hint is referring to KG since barring Bagan, he is the strongest in terms of raw power amongst the Kaiju and has a similar lightning motif despite it being Gravitational plasma.
The Muses is the name of the Mirror! Sirens so i suspect KG is venturing into the Mirror! Verse to do something against those versions of the Sirens.
Your choice of music is also intriguing as Icarus is associated with the Sun and you released a bio of Celly with a mention of Harmony in this blog. There's also the GMK song Godzilla's Rage associated with the words Destruction in this poem and i remember the Big G having the moniker God of Destruction(so an Evil Super Godzilla?) though there's mention of a hurricane and there is the fact of Xeni having Senior's genetic memory of the Battle in Attu Island 1983?
Ohh yeah and Theogeny does mention Zeus overthrowing Cronos(and Silly Little Ghidorah did mention pursuing his own ends the first chance he gets to Bacon's face) with an army of other titans, gods, and other creatures and afterwards becoming the Top Dog himself.
My God(pun intended) that was a lot to ramble.
I'm just sitting back and letting you guys figure this out.
"Life, Men, Equine, Spirits, Gods....all are bound to the laws of balance between Creation and Destruction.
The question being.....who will remain as the war of balance is wrought?....."
I tend to show up to these things a little late, which has the effect that most of any speculation I may have is spoiled by other comments.
I'm also typically wrong about these things. So this looks to me like a poetic description about either King Ghidorah or perhaps Godzilla, as an opponent for a goddess of creation, which we might assume to be Harmony herself. But that raises my eyebrow, as we know that Harmony is a few brackets more powerful than ether the Planet Killer or the King of the Monsters. Sooo.... hmmm..
The reference to fighting extinction, I think is a reference to Bagan.
What vexes me the most however, is the poem's relation to the title. If this were about the struggle itself, then this would be better called a "Theomachy", but a Theogony deals with the birth, or ascension of gods to power and status. So perhaps what happens here, is that beings so powerful they are considered "gods" arrive in Equestria, for the first time in living memory (Lea and Xen excluded).
4459336 it mentions a hill and if we harken back to his Shadow King poem, it also references hills so it could Grogario, Rulah of Tambelonia!
Given the posting of this poem, I get the feeling that you have something not far off besides the "Shimmer in the dark" finale.
4459421
4459542 though seriously, you should check out my earlier speculations.
4459133
Before you think so hard you go crosseyed, as impressive as your trains of thought are (bravo!); song titles aren't important hints necessarily. More important is the context and the melody, and what images such melody invokes. The first song invokes triumph, glory, and great benevolence, a song would think for an archangel or great hero taking a stand. The second song is a more foreboding, deeper tone; indicating something vast, powerful, and dangerous is coming; for good or ill.
4459550 I saw. I usually make sure to read all preceding comments, or as many as I can.
4459589 I find that I really wasn't a fan of the GMK score.
Grogar is a necromancer, right?
4459589 Hey Tarb answer this, what is the one thing Kaizer and Athena have in common?
4459596 so which one of my points do you see plausible?
4459639
I meant literally. As in just because one is titled "Godzilla's Rage" doesn't certainly mean it involves Godzilla. Doesn't disclude or include any character in themselves.
4459613 They're both Genius Bruisers? Or they both don't love anyone?
4459693 they were massive headaches upon birth!
By jove, fridge logic has just led to the possibility of Doragon making an appearance!
4459727
Where does it say that? I can't find it
4460150
4460158
Now that makes sense. Dragon does fly, so that's a possibility
4460165 Also the hurricanes part, he is the Aspect of Sky.
4460169
Then I have to agree with you
4460178 Also because i would like to see what him and Mizu look like.
4460183
Same
4460185 what are your own speculations?
4460188
I'd have to say that it's another fight with Bagan and Harmony.
Harmony: I am the Goddess of Creation
Bagan: I am the God of Destruction
Sounds legit, but I have to say that my theory is very wrong.
4460205 I think Destruction refers to either a Godzilla or Grogario
And since Enjin is currently in Manehattan, think he'll climb the empire state building?
4460220
I hope he does. I'd like to see that
4460228 He's the closest thing we get to Kong in this story, and i just realized a missed opportunity in Chapter 29 where he could've tried to shove a tree down X's throat or do the Jaw Finisher.
4460246
Aha!
4460268 so out of curiosity, what are your favorite Kaiju?
4460272
From the story?
4460275 or movies, it doesn't matter.
4460280
Well from the story, I really like the dark hunters. I like the good fraction, but X out of them all is my favorite
4460290 my personal favorite first and foremost is King Ghidorah.
4460298
