And now to something that I should have done right away.
Northland uses a lot of place names that are fun for the author but will be little more than flavour text to most readers. Time to change that! I invested 18£ in the actual paper maps. Because real paper is fun and looks nice when photographed with a bit of care. Also, I wanted these maps anyway for next time I'll visit Orkney. Little by little, I'll equip the chapters with these. Probably make them a little nicer, the red text is hard to read and the lighting needs work.
I love maps. I'm like Dawn with that.
The little town by the sea.
And Scapa's dream.
Using the real maps - its good idea)
I had to look up the stuff on Google maps after. Few chapters to get my bearings. This will make it easier!
Thanks
Hey, the red is really hard to read... but nice to see an idea of the setting.
MAPS!
Use red (or any other bright color) with black outline, it's much easier to read in such crowded environment as maps.

Thanks all, and I'll produce something much nicer to put into the story. Promise.
Now I have even more stuff to waste time on!
