I travel space and time, searching for perfection, for safety, and for purpose. I may never find it, and I may get lost, but the important part is the journey, not the destination. Enjoy it or remiss.

    It's Been a While

I don't think I have really touched this site in a while. I keep getting notifications for replies to my comments on mainly the Austraeoh series, but I . . . well, I still wonder about this place, about everyone still here and how everyone is doing, in their literary pursuits and their personal lives, assuming we got to know each other well enough.

    6 Years

I . . . I honestly don't have much to say for this one. There aren't very many things I can say I've done for six years. Working? Nope, I started in 2013. I played percussion for seven years. I've played on Xbox Live for seven years, almost 8. I've been on YouTube Since 2009. Meh, that's whatever, I guess.

    Power At Last!

Well, it's been an entire month without power. Somehow, someway, I have been without any connection to the outside world for that long, and it's been hard. 0/10, do not recommend. :rainbowwild:

    Foalcon Fiasco Followup

So I'm done with my commenting on the newest FiMFic Drama Showcase, and I thought I would give some after thoughts and maybe elaborate my feelings on the subject in a less emotional way. Needless to say, I have gotten a little angry with how things have progressed in terms of discussion, and I've reached my limit. I'm letting it go, but here's what I have to say on the matter to end this one for

    Little Witch Academia

I find it funny that I am making this post as I am about to watch the last two episodes of Little Witch Academia, and I still haven't watched the season finale of MLP. Don't spoil anything for me! :rainbowwild: But, yeah, I am basically ass backwards right now.

The Last Day of Christmas · 8:35am Mar 8th, 2017

Welp, here I am again with my latenight semi-reviews! I still don't know if I want to be too . . . legit about this whole thing. I would like to keep it more lighthearted for now (I am sticking to one-shots for this very reason), but you should look forward to fuller, more in-depth reviews when I tackle a larger story in the future. Currently speaking, I don't really want to put too much time into something that will take me years to complete. But I digress. Let's get to tonight's story!

Summary: Today, I read The Last Day of Christmas, a fluffy one-shot featuring our favorite reformed villain, Sunset Shimmer. The story begins with Sunset leaving school a few days before Christmas feeling maybe just a tad bit down. However, she is determined to not let a sour mood ruin the holidays, so she walks outside and kicks some snow to help her feel better. And then, suddenly, Twilight from Equestria shows up. Sunset is taken by surprise and inquires why Twilight decided to come all this way, and Twilight then proceeded to show her the presents everyone had gotten her. Presents from everyone in the human 6, apparently, and to end it all off, she receives something intensely meaningful: the Equestria Medal of Honor. She was awarded it for her success in spreading friendship and unity into another world, with Celestia engraving encouraging words on the back, and you can imagine this was a very emotional affair. Twilight had originally offered Sunset to come to her castle, but she refused, so Twilight gave a kiss on her cheek after Sunset had cried on her shoulder and left. Twilight would then wake up the next day to Sunset in her castle, and the story ends.

Thoughts: So this story did tug on my emotional strings, I'll give it that, but the story began at a rocky start. It was a little jarring for Twilight to suddenly come out of nowhere, and I felt that a better lead up to this confrontation would have served this story far better. Problems persisted throughout the story, one being the fact that Twilight seemingly gave presents to Sunset from all her human friends, which doesn't make too much sense. Sunset said that Christmas was only a few days away, so why would Equestrian Twilight be giving Sunset all of their presents before Christmas? That seemed to be a weak point in logic. Because of this, it seemed to lessen the climax of the story: Sunset receiving the pendant. It was well played, but it didn't have a strong lead up, so it fell a little short of it's intended aim.

I thought that Sunset showing up on Christmas day, I believe (I don't remember, I'm going to be honest. :rainbowlaugh:), was pretty odd as well, seeing as she said she was going to spend Christmas on Earth, but seeing as she did technically get all the presents from everyone she knew down there, I guess there was no reason for her to stick around. However, if that's the logic, then it's not good logic either.

I thought it was a sweet story, but that's about it. It needed a little more thought and better execution for it to have been a fantastic story. It probably needed to be twice the length it was, to be honest.

But that's all I have for you. Read the story if you want, but I don't recommend it. It's pretty much what you get on the cover.

Couldn't it be that Sunset was going to see Twilight early that morning? (I don' remember details to this perfectly, since I read it when it came out...) But the review, to me, was spot on; I applaud you for such a captivating review, and if I hadn't already read the work I would be wanting to go read it.

Thanks! I'm happy you enjoyed this review. I personally cannot remember even the scene u was talking about in the story. :rainbowlaugh: My memory has gone to shit as of late. I might have to go back because I know I was onto something when I said what I said. Haha.
