The End of A New Kind of Party · 11:09pm Feb 24th, 2017
It's finally here, the end of the TwiPie story, A New Kind of Party. It's been a long time, with lots of space and delays between some of the chapters.
These poor mares have been through a lot by this time. When I first started this story, I knew Pinkie wasn't in the best situation because of who she is. I just didn't see the last few chapters when I first thought they would have a bump in the road. The very first chapter showed the tiniest of cracks. I had been dying to say that since the first appearance of 'general muffin'.
What wasn't expected was Twilight's reaction. She went off the rails without me fully knowing why, until I kept writing. How she was stating everything from books helped me to know what was going on, and then Gwg pointed out confirmation bias, which I hadn't known was a thing. But it fit perfectly.
I do love that no matter what, writing can still surprise me. These characters become so strong in my mind that they do things that I don't even realize the full meaning of until later down the line when it all comes together. Some may say I'm just a good writer if that is happening. Others may believe more in the characters. I like to think of it as a balance. Life, the universe, everything is about balance. Even if the answer is technically 42.
While I wanted to keep going with these two mares, show how they come along from this large bump in their relationship, to present a neat (and not totally drawn out) story, this was the optimal stopping point. I may yet come back to them, show how this has affected their futures, but not today.
I'm not done with writing, not by a long shot. There may even be special 'spiritual' one shot sequels to NKP, but this sort of large project is going to have to wait for when I can really give it my focus as it deserves.
I want to thank everyone who read and liked my story about two love-struck mares, and the many editors I've had helping along the way. I am sort of surprised and yet not that this is among the more popular stories I have written (since Twilight is the main character, I can see why that is though).
Once more, a big thanks to Gwg and Shutup868 for their huge amount of editing and reviewing, bringing the best quality we can for your enjoyment. See you in the future!
If I may say something, if only to inflate my ego, I would like to provide my side of things as well.
A bump in the road might have been the initial plan, because pure fluff is only good in small doses, but it was I, the evil mastermind who corrupted wolfie here, that after reading the hearths warming chapters, decided that pinkies possessiveness would lead to a break up. The planning for this involved a lot of maniacal laughter and twirling of imaginary moustache, the wait being so terrible that I couldn't help adding links to flowey laughing before the horrible chapter. *sigh it was glorious.
My role as cocreater was that I would pitch ideas to wolfie and she would bring them to life. Oh the stories that I fear will never be told. Perhaps some will see the light of day, perhaps by wolfies hand or mine, or maybe even someone else entirely. Who knows. Probably not me, given that my stuff is still nowhere near done or even touched.
Sidetracked. Anyways I came up with the idea of breaking up twipie, because the idea of readers squirming, ranting, and screaming at their computers/tablets/phones made me feel all giddy inside. Don't get me wrong, I didn't have to twist wolfies arm to make this happen, she saw how evil it was and laughed too, so we're both evil jerks.
But in the end I, like some of you (I saw that there were people saying people should drop twi like a bad habit), wanted the hostess staple to get back together; I may not have pictured this as the end, but better to end here before we had to cancel (not saying that was on the table yet, but we recognized it as a possibility).
I hope that you all enjoyed this tale we have woven together. (Sorry this is in a comment but it would have been impossible to link this as a blog to nkp). I enjoyed this journey, and if people are willing, I could toss around ideas for your stories as well.
See you around space cowboy

4435720 Oh shush. I'm still slightly dyslexic and I wrote this pretty late at night. I got it right the last time. :P I just didn't want to try and look it up... which is my bad >.>
4435721 Sorry, I wrote this blog yesterday night, very late at night, after leading a dungeons and dragons session. I didn't mean to not mention your contributions to the story and that particular breakup. I could add it to the blog itself if you'd like.
4435946 nah I prefer my late night half formed thoughts. Thanks though.
4435950 okay. I do appreciate all those suggestions and help with story. Pretty sure it would be a different story if you didn't help.
