Man, 60, Left With Cockroach Stuck In His Ear Canal For Three Days · 5:22pm Feb 18th, 2017

A cockroach was crawling around a man's ear canal for THREE days before it was finally killed off.

He spent hours trying to scoop out the invader including using tooth picks and tweezers.

In desperation the 60-year-old repeatedly doused the bug with pesticide until it stopped moving - but its carcass remained wedged in his canal.

His ear then became swollen from the external irritation and chemicals from the pesticide and he was forced to go to hospital.

Surgeons were forced to perform an operation to remove the 1cm-long pest.

A doctor at the hospital explained that cockroaches seek warm places to shelter in winter and human ears ticked most boxes on the list of desirable qualities for its habitat.

The doctor advised that when a cockroach crawled into an ear, the best solution was the to flood the ear with clean oil, which is more effective than water in smothering the insects.

It comes just days after 19-year-old Mr Li discovered he had an entire family of the bugs in his ear.

Not only was there a big mummy cockroach taking up residence in his ear canal, but she had spawned 25 little baby roaches.

He had gone to hospital after his ear became itchy and painful.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK THHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT

4427200 I know right? I am double checking my pillows, blankets, and bed area in general before I go to sleep every night from now on. :raritydespair:

I mean.
might be kinky to some peeps

4427266 You've got a point there. More power to them.

As for me...I don't want bugs or creepy crawlies of any kind anywhere near any opening in my body, thank you very much. <_<

4427267 Indeed.
Puppers are better.
Near every opening :raritywink:

Never had problems with cockroaches, but I did once wake up as I got bitten by a spider. I felt a sharp pain in my lower back, jumped out of bed, and saw a spider about three inches wide, standing where I'd just been sleeping. I grabbed my shoes, walked back to my bed, and crushed it before checking my room for moelre spiders. I didn't find any more spiders, but I later discovered I'd only woken up after the spider had bitten me seventeen times, in a near-perfect circle. Still hate big spiders.

4427309 I don't like spiders either. I swallowed a brown recluse spider one time. It caused my whole body to turn red, my body to get white spots, me to get short of breath, and have pain everywhere. I had to get rushed to the hospital where they gave me charcoal. The charcoal made me throw up the spider/ cleaned my system from toxins. The doctor said that if I didn't come to the hospital when I did, I could have potentially died. I also woke up with a wolf spider on my face one time. That was a pretty terrifying experience. Anyways, needless to say, I don't really like spiders. I avoid them when possible.

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!

4427322 I don't know. But I am definitely double checking my pillows, blanks, sheets, and bed area in general before I go to bed from now on. :raritydespair:

Now that's a pretty nasty thing to occur. :pinkiesick:

4427345 I know right? I no longer feel safe sleeping at night until I make sure there are absolutely no bugs anywhere around me. :raritycry:

4427349 A bug getting inside me is one of the worst fears I've ever had.

4427350 Well like I mentioned in a previous comment, one time I swallowed a brown recluse spider.

Needless to say, after that experience, I am very careful about checking absolutely EVERYTHING around me before going to sleep. I don't want any weird creepy crawlies anywhere near me at any time in general. But especially when I am asleep and there isn't anything I can do to fend the horrible creatures from the under-realm off.

4427510 Puppies are cute. :)

I despise wolf spiders. I once found three of them under my bed, screamed, and proceeded to throw my shoes at them, and then smashed one under a book when it came out.

4427733 I don't like spiders or creepy crawly things in general. The further they are away from me, the better. :derpytongue2:

4427869
Indeed. Kill them with fire.

I once had a cockroach stuck in my ear when I was about 6. It stayed there crawling around for about a half-hour before it finally just popped out, in the backyard of my grandma's house.

Bad memories . . . . :pinkiesick:

4427356 Yikes, that's a disturbing ordeal you went through mate. Brown Recluses have supposedly the strongest poison in the world.

4427878 Yesss. Lots and lots of fire. All of the creepy crawlies must be burned to a crisp. :pinkiecrazy:

4427915 That must have been a terrible experience. I am sorry that you had to go through that. :(

4428208 I am just glad that I somehow made it out of that situation alive. But it made me not really like spiders or other creepy crawlies for obvious reasons. :P

4428311 I completely understand it mate.

*throws up* OH LORD!!!!!!!!!!

4428900 I know right? It makes me want to check where I am sitting/ sleeping from now on and just hope that nothing creepy tries to bother me while I am sitting somewhere or sleeping. :raritydespair:

the picture alone made me squirm
