So as a single guy with Valentine’s Day around the corner, I’ve been getting a little bummed out with all the posts and stories relating to said holiday I’ve been seeing in my feed and on the front pages. Not really much I can do about that. 
Doesn’t mean that a few of my OCs can’t share the love, though.

I think that Valentine's Day isn't meant to just celebrate the couples and the married but also the friendships of people because basically you love your friends and family!

I would agree with that sentiment, but personally I think Valentine's Day has been commercially advertised as a couples' holiday to such a degree that that part of the holiday just sort of fades into the background. I've arranged for flowers to be sent to my aunt and grandmother, who have been helping me tremendously as I've been finishing my last semesters of college, so I haven't completely lost touch with your interpretation of the holiday, it's just that it's so ridiculously flaunted by companies and couples that it's otherwise just kind of a thorn in my side for now.
Hence, the already-shipped OCs get the love instead.
