You know what really grinds my gears? When people who write fanfiction are using numbers like 19 instead of typing it out like nineteen. It's not hard to do, and it looks so much more professional than 19 in the middle of your nice fancy paragraph or line of text. It's like someone putting cheap aftermarket rims on a Mercedes or something, why would you cheapen your writing when it takes very little effort to actually write out the number instead of just putting the numeric representation of it?
Seriously:
So I was walking home from work today, thinking about tonight. My father called me earlier, and my roommate is waiting to party. It's not every day you turn 23, so we are going to go out and celebrate. I'll probably have at least 4 strong drinks, and some good bar food.
Now read this:

See how much nicer it looks when you actually write out the number?
If you said no to the above question, go hit yourself over the head a few times with something hard and heavy please...
Now that the silly people are gone, if you said yes, good on you for actually having some sense on this subject.
Thank you for your time everyone, see you whenever I decide to make another blog post.

Numbers work if you're referring to things in particular. Like, a reading sequence or something, or a place that has a number in its name.
4413988 I still think even then, the proper way of going about it is still writing out the number instead of putting the actual number.
Gods that is a confusing statement to say...
