Looking for an editor and future "Lament of the World" stuff · 10:01pm Sep 26th, 2012
Hey everyone,
I've finally managed to finish chapter 23 of "Wings of Tomorrow ~ Lament of the World", so check it out if you haven't yet.
Now for more serious matters. I've recently submitted this story to Equestria Daily, but got rejected for reasons of grammar and spelling, and poorly placed descriptions, though they did say I had an interesting premise. Now, I'm not really mad about this, and I don't really care if my story's on EqD or not. What I do care about, however, is its quality. I'm not going to deny that EqD actually has a point. English is not my first language, and though I've come a long way in the eight years I've been writing fanfiction in english, I'm still not perfect. You may also remember that I recently lost my proofreader as well. But I care for my story, and I want it to be as good as it can possibly be. EqD highly recommended that I get an editor, and I agree. So, with this, let me say it plain and clear:
I'm looking for an editor who is willing to help with "Wings of Tomorrow ~ Lament of the World".
I'm not just looking for a proofreader, but for an actual editor. Someone who not only filters out the grammar and spelling mistakes, but who also looks for where my description is no good, if there's any clunky or poor dialogue, if there are things in the plot that make no sense or if there are things that should be expanded upon or the opposite: shortened. In short, someone who is willing to do the entire cleaning job, naturally while working closely together with me (I'll give Skype or gmail to make cooperation easier). I'll try to do as much of the corrections as possible myself, I just need someone to point them out to me.

That aside, I have also written out an outline and planning of the next ten chapters of the story, and I decided to share the planned chapter titles with you to wet your appetites. (Please note that these might change in the future, but chances of that are low.) The next chapters, as of chapter 23, will be:

I'll give it a look. Though I feel kinda uncomfortable about PM'ing total strangers to ask them for their help. Call me silly, but it always kinda made me feel like I was being rude.

Heh, a challenge I face all the time. I was nervous when I asked for a prereader for Darkness' Embrace. I still get nervous when I ask people to review it, or sent it in to EqD. (I got denied, if you're interested) But really, how much worse is it to ask one person for help when compared to uploading your fic in the first place for untold masses of strangers to read it? You took a risk putting it on the site and came out none the worse for wear; if you need help to make your fic even better, there's no better way than to ask.
