Y'know how in software, the terms "i386" and "x86-64" are thrown around a lot? That's because i386 was the name of Intel's 386 processor, which was the first to support 32 bit x86 software. x86-64 was developed by AMD as a 64-bit extension to i386.
Floppy disks are actually still very convenient when you can't boot from usb or a dvd drive.
Speaking of floppies, Sony invented the 3.5 inch floppy disk.
No, the Mac was not one of the earliest GUI-based computers. That award goes to the Xerox Alto.
Both Apple and Microsoft have a long history of copying off of each other and then suing.
At one point, Apple and Microsoft were so close that one would write software specifically for the other. For example, Applesoft BASIC, written by Microsoft for Apple computers.
i am still having bad flashbacks to the days when I had to use floppy discs to store word files and burn pictures/ music/ videos on CDs.

4410545 I used a floppy disk to turn in an essay back in fifth grade. I didn't have any usb drive handy and at the time turning things in online was still pretty hard, so I just brought a floppy disk in my pocket.
