Whoo! I seem to have picked up some followers after the last story I wrote! Seriously though, thank you all for reading my stuff and commenting, I'm honored to have people who think I'm a good writer and think high enough of me to actually subscribe. You guys are a big reason why I continue writing. I write largely for a sense of personal creative fulfillment, but the fact that I know there are other people out there who will enjoy what I do certainly adds a lot to the experience, so thank you and that goes to everyone who reads and comments and rates, not just followers, but especially those who've followed me!
I'm working on another fic, I've outlined it, I'm probably going to sit down and start writing the actual piece after this blogpost. Details I can give are limited (gotta keep people in suspense) but I doubt many people will be disappointed. I may split it up into chapters or leave it as a long single-chapter. Whatever the case, I will release it all at once, when I finish it; I don't believe in releasing stories chapter by chapter, that's not my style. The story is a clopfic. It's quite dark. Fans of the combination of those two will be happy. As for who it's about or any plot details, patience my friends.
I would like to write another non-clop story at some point. I have two non-clop ideas floating around, one of which I started writing at one point, but haven't been able to get excited about finishing yet. The upside to non-clop is that it could potentially get on Equestria Daily which reaches a lot more bronies, but I really don't care too much about that. The additional viewership would be neat, but I'm not one who is seeking the approval of EqD and it's followers; I think EqD is a pretty elitist site. As much as I appreciate the site and what it is I have some problems with their standards. I believe their pre-readers are on way too much of a power trip to provide the site with an honest representation of what are the best fanfics out there at any given time. I've watched these people stream, I don't like their methods, their attitudes, so frankly I don't value their approval over say, my fans on fimfiction, or the people on r/clopclop or r/mylittlepony. Also, I prefer to write mature stories, either clop or very dark, nihilistic stories; that's my style, that's what inspires me the most. I'm a big fan of taking the characters in this children's show and pushing them, testing their potential as characters in more mature scenarios; I think the fact that they work in darker interpretations proves that they are strong characters and I find that satisfying. Those stories, where I free myself to plumb the dark depths of my mind, are often not the types of stories that are going to make it onto EqD in the first place. If I come up with some kind of adventure style story idea that really intrigues me, something that I could send to EqD, great, but I'm not so desperate for attention that I would sacrifice my style, or compromise in any way to do so. A perfect example is His Daughter's Scars, there were minor changes I could have made to that story to make it "eqd friendly", namely toning down the paragraph or two of graphic violence that I had written in. It still would have been a good story and there would have been the potential that thousands more people would have seen it, but I actively decided against doing so because I felt it made the story weaker. Even if it only would have been a slightly weaker story I wasn't willing to accept that trade.
