So...it's been quite a while...good God do I have a huge feed box.

Yeah, a lot's happened since last I was here. I graduated with my Bachelor's, Christmas came and went, I started Grad school. But it hasn't been the happiest of times. 2017 hasn't started off on a high note.

Something happened. Something I knew was gonna happen soon but I still wasn't prepared for. My dog Mike, my best and oldest friend, injured his neck, and after 4 days of near-constant pain, I couldn't let him continue to suffer. He fell asleep in my arms one last time while lying on his favorite blanket. That night, I slept alone for the first time in 16 years. A constant throughout my life is now gone, and it feels like there's an empty space in my chest.

I'm a bit better now, had a good weekend with my family at a Ren Faire where a friend of mine proposed to his fiance while acrobats juggled fire around them. Got to wear a badass cloak and had a blast. Just a moment to finally enjoy myself.

I can't say I'll be getting much writing done anytime soon. Grad school is keeping me pretty busy and I procrastinate too much as is. When summer comes along, maybe I'll get some writing in for the few of you who actually enjoy my mediocrity for whatever reason.

Hopefully I'll be able to get on a little more frequently just to look and chat. Until then, here's a song that has nothing to do with anything. It's just cool.
