We've lost one of the greatest British actors of all time...

Oh, 2017, thou art a harsh mistress already.

I'm sad to announce that Sir John Hurt has passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 77. You may remember him as Winston Smith from 1984, Kane from Alien, Mr Ollivander from Harry Potter, Aragorn from the animated Lord of the Rings movie, the Horned King from The Black Cauldron, John Merrick from The Elephant Man, the War Doctor from Doctor Who and many other roles from over 129 films.

But let's try to be fair here before we shout about wanting 2017 to die in a fire. It's sort of the same case with Christopher Lee in that he was very old and very ill in addition. Besides, 77 is a damn good age.

Regardless, we'll all miss him extremely.
